Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Big Flats (Elmira), NY

The hotel is very nice. Breakfast was good. Beds were comfortable. The reason for the lower score is that the toilet in the bathroom was so low to the ground I could not get off of it. It needs to be replaced with a toilet of normal height!

I'll never go to this hotel or any "by Radisson" again. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the bed was comfortable. Upon check in we were told there was no housekeeping. We did not know that ahead of time. They said, as an excuse, they could not find people to work. The decor was tired at best and needed a thorough cleaning. My room smelled terrible and when I went to switch it they knew it was an issue. I guess they hoped it wouldn't bother us. There was adhesive on the wall above the bed where painting had been hung. The room was missing a lamp shade and a toilet paper holder. The frosted glass doors had lost their frostng on one pane and they used scotch tape to make it appear frosted. Pros: Room was a good size and seemed that the decor was updated. Cons: Drain in the tub was broken, part of the metal casing for the shower curtain was falling off the wall, drain in the sink did not work well, one day there was no tv service - front desk did not seem concerned, the phone in the room did not work - when I needed to call the front desk I would need to look up the number and use my cell phone, only time in a 3 night stay I saw anyone at the front desk was at checkin and check out, there were no working lights in the parking lot, breakfast was subpar and had very few choices, parking lot did not start getting plowed until almost 1:30pm and the road coming into the hotel never seemed to get cleared out. I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a comfortable experience with a few standout features and some areas for improvement. Pros: The air conditioning in the room was excellent—quiet, efficient, and kept the room at a perfect temperature even during a particularly hot week. The shower was also a highlight: modern, easy to use, and with great water pressure, which made mornings especially pleasant. The staff at the hotel is pretty friendly too. Cons: One area that needs attention is the breakfast dining experience. The space felt a bit cramped during peak times, and it could benefit from a more organized layout to accommodate guests better. Our stay was wonderful the beds were comfortable the shower was great had wonderful water pressure. The property could use a nice clean up outside. The pool room was warm but the pool water was cold. Breakfast we could have used more kid friendly foods like bananas or even pancakes other then that the stay was great
