Customer Reviews
The location to town and activities was great. The room was clean and served its purpose for a weekend getaway. The only complaint I have is the bed. It was a sinking pit in the middle with high spots around the edge. The pillows could have been a bit less thick as well. Over all a good place for a weekend trip.
Went on a surprise trip with my girlfriend and the Adirondack’s were calling my name. My stay at Placid Bay was almost perfect. The room was a little small, but clean and very manageable. The bathroom was dated but the deep soak tub was amazing being able to submerse your entire body after a long day of hiking. The area the hotel is in is perfect, 2 minutes either direction from the main parts of town and easily accessible on the main road. Our only gripe was the other residents. This hotel has a reputation of being quiet, it’s mostly used for people that are doing outdoors activities and just needing a place to sleep. Our first night some of the other hotel stayers decided to party and play loud music until almost 8am. It woke us up multiple times and sadly since the hotel is all “self-ch
The location was very nice - located in a marshy section of the lake. Rooms were clean. |The issue is with the lack of customer service. The hotel can only be reached by phone. There is not one person there to answer questions besides the gentleman cleaning the rooms. It is a shame we really wanted to love this hotel.|We had an issue one evening along with 3 other rooms and there was no confirmation or a call back. I tried to contact them again and no answer. |If booking, I would look into the houses, they are closer to the lake with less road noise.
Pricing was better than most, but it was a "get what you pay for" deal. Lots of stairs outdoors and in the rain, and potentially slippery. Bathroom door could not latch. Dirt on the pillows below the a/c unit. A sign directing us NOT to shut off the a/c despite forty degree temps. With no further explanation given, we shut off the a/c. Still, generally clean, good water pressure for the shower, and a massive TV for Thursday Nite Football, once you realized it needed to be plugged in =^..^=
Nice place to stay right on the lake shore. Everything was adequate but not outstanding. It is what it is, not too expensive and you get what you pay for. I would recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to spend a fortune on accommodation as the location is wonderful a d rooms were absolutely fine. Log fire on the lake was a really nice touch and the free use of SUP boards and canoes was great.
