Motel 6 Waterloo, IA

I stayed here for a night during a quick road trip, and for a budget-friendly motel, this is a fantastic option! The room was surprisingly clean and fresh, with none of those stale odors you sometimes encounter, which was a huge plus for me. The front desk staff was very professional and polite; they had me checked in within minutes. The location is super convenient right off the main road and easy to find, yet it was quiet enough for a solid night's rest. Obviously, it's not a luxury hotel, but it’s definitely a great "bang for your buck." If you’re looking for a reliable, no-frills place to crash and recharge, this spot is a hidden gem.

Isn't the Motel 6 slogan, "We'll leave the light on for you" ? Well they left the light on, but then they locked the doors so we couldn't check in! Came in a little after 11pm and door was locked, nobody in sight. Place was completely abandoned. Had to get a refund from hotels.com and find another hotel. A lady with a black eye came out and told me she hadn't seen any employees working there in days. I guess this hotel is run by ghosts. Beware..
