Howard Johnson by Wyndham Waterloo/Cedar Falls

The room was clean. Atmosphere was inviting and our night was very quiet, except for the noise that the heating/cooling unit made. Breakfast was good…lots of carbs. Fridge and microwave worked fine. Price was great, check-in was flawless. Very good.

I am giving Howard Johnson by Wyndham Waterloo/Cedar Falls a Five-Star review because of the excellent customer service. I accidentally left my dental retainer, and called late at night to see if it was still there. The staff were responsive and it was. They mailed it, but due to a glitch in the United States Post Office tracking, it kept getting sent back and forth between states. I am happy to report that I finally received my retainer, and give well deserved high praise to Tracy from the hotel who graciously helped correct the issue. Tracy was very responsive and sympathetic to my situation. While other hotels could have thrown out the retainer during cleaning, they didn't and showed great patience through shipping challenges (that were clearly USPS's fault).

Listen this place isn't new again what do you expect for the price. What is it... It's clean, great location, and has breakfast. The staff here is amazing. Don't let exterior or aged inside fool you, you will be safe and comfy for the night.

Positive: It was super cute retro remodel Negative: A sconce fell...untouched...just fell & was hanging by the cords. The drywall was squishy & not stable. I called "0" & told a man,he said not to worry about it-we were charged $100 & the manager promised to call me back/look into this 2 times,nothing.

Terrible hotel. First tv didn't work. They fixed that/ then air-conditioning didn't work. Changed rooms. Get to new room that night and find toilet seat was broken. Informed front desk in morning said they would fix. Came back that night. Still broken. We are stuck but definitely will not return.
