Motel 6 Norfolk, VA

Price is about the only thing going for this place other than it’s relatively safe. I understand that it’s a bare bones basic place, but they do not even offer you a simple plastic cup in the room for the purpose of brushing your teeth or a glass of water. That just seems ridiculously cheap.  The floor was filthy and my feet turned black in five minutes. 

I checked in just for a night but the room had no pillows, couldn't get the tv to change input modes so that I could hook up my laptop to the tv, and the water never got truly hot. I mean, it was the cheapest hotel in Norfolk for the night but damn. Oh, no ice bucket, no cups, no fridge or microwave either. I had fun though.

Positive: It was nice and Clean and Quiet. Negative: The Bathroom the Bathtub I think it was stop up but I couldn’t take a bath but shower was working.It didn’t have a microwave in there.

I have stayed at different Motel6 locations and come to trust that I will have a clean and comfortable place to stay for my trip - not luxury, which is exactly what I pay for. This was the exact opposite. When we arrived, I was checked into a room that had bugs CAKED along the baseboards, cigarette burns in the pillows and sheets, and the room smelled AWFUL. I went to the front and asked for a new room, something that was clean. The person at the front laughed as I asked for a room that was actually clean, and proceeded to take me on an unwilling tour of a few rooms that were all the same - skid marks on the sheets, unclean. He finally opened a door to a room that was a bit cleaner and said this one was freshly cleaned with the new sheets, so I accepted it because I didn't have a backup pl

* I WAS ASKED TO DO A SURVEY TO HELP THE PROPERTY ! * BEWARE AS SOON AS I DID IT THE LADY IN THE OFFICE is crazy! Horrible service! Couldn’t get towels or sheets ! Was given dirty room when I checked in and I mean dirty! Someone had use the bathroom and did a number 2 ! Nasty stuff and the toilet was clogged but housekeeping cleared the room for check in! So that let me know no one cleaned the bathroom let alone the room ! I know everyone on a budget and just need somewhere clean and safe but this is not it ! It was always some loud disagreement or high traffic of some shady people! I rather sleep in a bush on the side of the building! You have been warned!
