MainStay Suites MSP Airport - Mall of America

We checked in while passing through town, only to discover that the pool and one hot tub were completely closed, and the second hot tub that was supposedly available was lukewarm and essentially not working. When we booked this hotel, we were told there were two hot tubs and a pool, which was a major reason we chose this location. We are traveling with two children who were looking forward to swimming on vacation. Because the advertised amenities were not available, we requested a refund and chose not to stay. Management refused, stating that the price is the same with or without amenities. At no point during booking were we informed that the pool and hot tub were closed or that the remaining hot tub had no heat. This information should have been clearly disclosed. I encounter a lot of problems to deal with at this hotel. They change the sheets and clean the room once a week only. I have to ask for more bath towels. I have run out of bath towels more than once. I have had to flush the toilet more than once often to get the bowl to empty. The TV has few channels and the picture quality is unwatchable. The room is drafty. An electrical outlet does not work. Loud hallway door closing noise is a frequent disruption. Heaters in a hallway, stairwell, and entry areas are not working and those areas are cold.

Javier and Sam working the front desk were amazing. They were super helpful and kind. I used the park and pay online and got stuck at the hotel after my trip due to my car dying in the cold. They kept us entertained and hopeful while we worked on a solution. God bless them, and give them a raise their awesome!

This was 2nd time staying here 1st time was bad n they asked us to give them another shot so my wife n i did and this time was worse than the 1st time. We booked a king bed ended up w 2 double beds. Hallways smelled horrible and had trash down Hallways the elevator smelled like urine. Found dirty used wash cloths still hanging from shower rod in bathroom. Hot water didnt last long in the shower. 1 of the beds was right up against the refrigerator and stove top area of room. Staff was not friendly and seemed liked they didnt care when i addressed these issues with them. Would not recommend to anyone to stay here.
