Absolutely magical property. It's the perfect place when you want the "vibe" of off the grid without really being off the grid. Cabins are so incredibly cozy and are cleaned and fire place replenished everyday. Just have to light and add wood! Rooms are so comfortable and warm with amazing views of the lake. Great wooden boardwalk that you use to get to and from the restaurants. The restaurants are so great. The food is fantastic. Service is wonderful. They also have cross country skis and snow shoes to use. We also recovered access to a local gym with great amenities. This property is absolutely stunning and it feels secluded enough but not cut off. We were so lucky we had a snowy night that coated the property in fresh white powder that glistened with the Christmas tree lights.
We had an exceptional experience at Lake Placid Lodge from start to finish. They were incredibly accommodating, even allowing us to check in early during inclement weather. Our lakeside cabin was beautiful, with a stunning view of the lake—made even more magical as the snow began to fall. The fireplace was already set up for us; all we had to do was light a match and add wood as needed, which made the space feel especially cozy. Breakfast was fantastic, with delicious homemade hash and perfectly cooked eggs. We also had a great dinner at Maggie’s—splitting a wonderful salad and a flavorful pasta dish. The staff throughout our stay were friendly, attentive, and eager to make our visit special. They even moved us to a comfortable coach in front of the fireplace so we could finish our wine,
We spent two snowy winter days before Christmas Eve and skated on the Olympic speed skating oval at night which made the trip. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom cottage near the stairs leading to the lobby. We had lunch both days in Maggie’s which is very relaxing and comfortable sitting next to the fireplace. We ate in the wine cellar our last night which is the most unique dining experience ever. Raja professionally served us and made us feel like royalty surrounded by bottles of fine wine. There is a small shop in the lobby and the desk, housekeeping and maintenance crew where all over us. We ate at Jimmy’s on Main Street Lake Placid, a fun Italian restaurant, and it was snowing when we drove back to the cabins to start fires in the living rooms. Our family enjoyed long walk
We stayed at a lakeside cabin for 3 days. The view was absolutely stunning, and the resort fee included several fun activities like snowshoeing, sledding, and s'mores, which we really enjoyed. We booked a promotion that included breakfast, but there was a bit of a misunderstanding. It turned out "per adult" meant children were not included. However, after explaining the situation, the manager kindly waived the $40 fee per child. If you love quiet scenery, I highly recommend this place. That said, considering the price point, the service and food quality were a bit underwhelming—I’d struggle to give it more than 4 stars. Still, it’s a place I’d consider visiting once a year.
It’s a great property but the patchy service quality makes it an avoidable mistake. The views overlooking the lake are great- rooms are decent (albeit with bad lighting and poor amenities) but we experienced so many different touch points of bad service or poor quality that I would definitely not recommend this a “meeting the standard” relais and chateau property. For example - their front desk is pretty much impossible to get through on the phone - and then on the final day they called to ask if we need a pull out cot in the room - which has one bed and I’ve made a booking for 3 adults and 1 child. This is after having been explicitly clear multiple times on this matter during the booking itself. Housekeeping did not make the bed for the evening leaving us to haul out the cots etc- no qu
