Howard Johnson by Wyndham Sacramento Downtown

Monica and Anna have been great. Allowed me to check in 3 hours early when I was having a rough time. Have stayed a few times in the past month and Monica has made a few exceptions for my convenience when I needed it the most. Rooms are clean and believe it or not the breakfast is actually really good. Not the best area, but they have security and the price is well worth it. I would definitely stay again. *Sajad even let me sit in the lounge and charge my phone 3 hours before check in. Great staff

Room had a few bugs but otherwise very clean and function. The surrounding area is a bit seedy, not a place you'd want to walk around, but the property felt safe.

Positive: Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Appeared to be fresh paint. Negative: I had to switch rooms because the TV didn’t work. The new room the TV didn’t work. There was only one drape which didn’t cover the window at all, and the shower nozzle was screwed up. I would’ve read it this motel left, but the room is really clean up

I didn't get to.stay in the room. There was a 100 deposit on the room that I didn't know about until i arrived and they wouldn't let me stay. Then they wouldn't give me back my 70 dollar reservation ⁰⁰money. Such a scam I can't believe they rob people like this and get away with it. Stupidest loophole and grimiest way to make money. They robbed a man who had nothing. The staff was very rude and snickered when he told me to leave then called security on me because I asked for my money back. After multiple back and forths with priceline and howard johnson we are still without a resolution. All I want is my money back. I don't care about policy you can't steal. I ts against the law.ll⁹8⁸8⁸qq

The good: Five star service for a reasonable price - their workers are all dedicated, underpaid, and irreplaceable. This is the only hotel I will stay at in the Sacramento area. The free breakfast has a decent selection. There's a miniature gym and office. The rooms are cozy and reliable. Security does a good job of keeping chaos down. Feeling lonely? There are plenty of stray cats to keep you company. The bad: Not all rooms are perfect, I have experienced a whole gauntlet of issues, but staff will swap your room easily. The price attracts a variety of crowds whom do not care about the hotels' property. Wyndham needs to support this management in a full refurbish, and not a cheap rebrand from La Quinta to HoJo (this Wyndham property from the 70's needs - new water heaters, piping
