Holiday Inn Atlanta-Gas South Arena Area by IHG

Stayed here twice now to watch Atlanta Vibe since we are out of towners. Great location and walkable to the arena. Bar is decent and bartender was friendly, breakfast wasn’t the greatest for it costing extra but we stopped at a local breakfast joint on our way out. Will stay again and again to watch women’s sports 🏐

The location is absolutely perfect for anyone attending an event at the convention center or Arena — it’s literally the shortest walk possible. My room was large, very clean, and well-equipped with fresh towels, a microwave, refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. The shower was spacious and wide enough to easily accommodate a walker or wheelchair, with plenty of room to move around comfortably. I stayed in a king room that included a sofa bed and still had plenty of open space — nothing felt crowded. The hotel is also dog-friendly, which was a huge plus. Breakfast was available as a buffet for just $4.99, and dinner was pay-by-item from a simple menu featuring burgers, chicken tenders, and salads. They also have a gym, lounge, and pool, though I didn’t use those amenities during my stay.

Positive: walking distance from concert venue. Safe area. Free parking. Like they charged $5 for breakfast. Made it an enjoyable experience. Places with free breakfast have lines 20 people deep now 24 hour coffee that is kept up and not forgotten. Negative: door on room needed to be planed or adjusted. Had to push hard to open and close.

Rooms are okay. Clean enough. Something I would expect from most holiday inns. However their breakfast arrangement is horrible. One morning you come down and the lady tells you you have to wait to be seated then the next morning you come down and one woman tells you to wait so you wait then the other tells you you can take any seat and she’ll be with you. Very disorganized. We just ended up leaving to eat elsewhere because we got tired of waiting and there was barely any food left in the buffet, they never seem to have their regular coffee ready. Hotel itself is okay, but breakfast thing is horrible.

We stayed here for a conference. Good value, clean rooms, friendly staff. My only minus is about the bathrooms. It isn’t the best design, with counters that fall short from going from wall to wall. Also, it seemed that dead space between counter and wall doesn’t get vacuumed. Besides that, the room was clean.
