High Peaks Resort

Pure magic! The hotel is perfectly located right on the main strip of shops and restaurants. Even during slippery conditions, we found it easy to travel the indoor stairs through The Dancing Bear restaurant right out to the street. |Right across the street from Lake Mirror and the park with gorgeous views of Mirror Lake Inn lit for the holidays. ||We stayed in the main building of the resort and it was clean (I haven’t encountered any mold issues), the staff friendly accommodating and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas. They text with their guests and we were able to easily get a roll away bed and a microwave delivered to our room. We especially enjoyed the free painting class they offered to guests. I love this place. It's the perfect combination of location, service ambience and theme. Been to lake placid before but this time it felt rustic and so much more complete because of the stay. The concierge at high peaks graciously accommodated out early check in and helped us along the way. The room was fantastic (and in another life I would have loved to live here a month) the view was amazing. I wanted a winter adventure and experience at Mirror lake (which I got) and high peaks resort was the proverbial cherry. Absolutely unique and one of a kind experience and I know that I will be visiting again soon!

We stayed here for Valentines weekend and had an amazing time here. We booked the king size room and it had ample space for the two of us. The room was clean and comfortable. We didn’t interact much with the front desk staff but when we did everyone was polite and nice. We also didn’t attend any of the events going on but it was nice to see they had options for families staying there! The parking space seems small at first but we never had a problem finding a spot. The hotel is also in an extremely convenient location in downtown Lake Placid. We only had to take our car out twice to go somewhere which was great, especially after seeing the absolute madness that is trying to find public parking. Overall, a great place to stay with clean rooms, nice staff and convenient location.

Positive: Hotel is completely brand new renovated with beautiful clean new rooms and amazing grounds.. 2 pools, huge hot tub, basketball tennis... Perfect family vacation spot 7 mins from San Saveur, an amazing town with wonderful food and nightlife. Negative: This a 4*+hotel with a 2 star parking lot so on the approach it is underwhelming. They should also invest in 50 new cans of tennis balls to sell or give to guests.

We just came back from a sub zero, wonderful winter Miracle on Ice week in Lake Placid in Jan. 2026. The entire staff at High Peaks needs a hand salute for a job well done. Booking the room with the Ryan & Riley, was great, they both went over board on helping us get the best view and parking on the 4th floor. Riley even suggested a better route to the hotel vs going from Ohio through snow bound Watertown. The front desk staff were also outstanding with any and all of our needs. The first morning our car wouldn't start and the staff quickly provided us with a jump start and off we went. I want to thank the maintenance crew for coming to our aid. Finally, Front Desk staff member "Forella" also help me with printing a couple of pictures to surprise my wife on her birthday. Let's not f
