Hampton Inn & Suites Canton

There were a lot of kids, maybe a family reunion nearby. In the community area/dining room they had pizzas, desserts and the large group of families was having fun. As kids will be they were noisey running around the halls, going to the pool and having a good time. However, by 9:00 pm, it was all quiet. So, a very family friendly hotel.

Inn was pleasant overall. Staff was responsive and friendly. Our suite was large, comfortable, clean with the expected amenities. Inn is close to a number of good restaurants and malls. The actual locations is a bit awkward as it is down a long hill with somewhat limited parking in the front. We stayed two night so we could go to the Pro Football Hall of Fame which is 15 min or so away. Would stay here again.

Positive: The location and size of the room were great! The breakfast had a decent variety. The breakfast was excellent, especially the omelet cook! She is a sweetheart. Negative: The pool could be warmer for a heated pool. Pool towels were al gone. I had to go get regular towels vs staff bringing them. The happy hour is all well liquor tasted terrible! They won't sub items like ginger beer. No coffee or tea avail after breakfast.

Upon arrival, there were several stray cats on the property. The front desk staff advised they had been dumped years ago and have lived there ever since. About five hours into our stay, while relaxing in bed, I saw a bed bug crawling across the comforter on top of me. I immediately picked up the hotel phone and pressed the “front desk” button, but a man answered and said I had called his room. It was nearly 11:00 p.m., so I apologized and explained I had simply pressed the front desk button. He was clearly upset and said, “I hope this isn’t going to be an issue.” At check-in, I had received a welcome text stating I could reply if I needed assistance, so I replied asking for someone to contact me. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Choices and quality were mediocre. Space was limited in the breakfast area. 3 tables for 4 ,1 large hightop and many tiny tables to accommodate twosomes but we managed to cram in 3. The pool seemed clean. The noise level ( thumping overhead and down the steps) made it very hard to sleep. We were at the end of the hall-2nd floor. The hotel needs to be renovated ASAP. ( bathrooms for sure) Staff was very nice. Hotel conditions are out of their hands .
