Fairfield Inn Philadelphia Valley Forge/King of Prussia

We stayed at Fairfield by Marriott Philadelphia Valley Forge King of Prussia in late September for an overnight trip from Maryland and had a wonderful experience. Lawrence, the hotel manager, was extremely accommodating and kind from the moment we arrived. Traveling with two children, including a toddler, can be challenging, but he went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and we appreciate it far beyond words. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the entire property felt clean and cared for. The location was perfect, just minutes from the King of Prussia Mall, which made it easy to shop, grab dinner, and get back to the hotel without any hassle. The front desk associates was great! Our experience was great but... The had issues with the Internet, our tv wasn't streaming NOTHING but regular basic cable! (It was out of their control) The general manger Lawrence was great and the front desk young lady who checked us in was so so nice, as well as the young gentleman!!They remember our anniversary and that was so special! The hot breakfast was great!

As a former professional hotel critic, I'm generally flexible when it comes to reviewing hotels, since I know how hard it is to do everything right.||On the other hand, what I definitely do *not* accept is inexplicably poor customer service, and the hotel's inexplicable refusal to respond to messages about even the most basic stuff – I literally needed only to push back my booking by a single day – handily qualifies. Both emails & calls failed to yield any response, yay or nay.||I get the whys: Marriott lets its properties' owners (most of which are franchised) "penalize" guests for not booking rooms through their Bonvoy app instead of an OTA. Positive: The location Negative: I didn't like that during breakfast, right next to our table, a staff member rolled in with a huge container of garbage and emptied the breakfast garbage right next to us and other guests. Also my floor was loud until 1AM with ppl screaming slamming doors

The room was nice, comfortable, and had the typical amenities. Checking in was a bit of an issue, almost wasn’t able to because I, the one who booked and paid for the room, am under 21. Luckily someone else in my party was above and could check us in. If you require guests to be 21+ (which is discrimination but for some reason acceptable), it needs to be shown clearly on the website during the booking process. The front desk person was not the most helpful about the situation either.
