I'm waiting til 3 to check in. It has a lovely sitting area just off the dining area, which is very peaceful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of snack foods and complimentary teas, coffee, and snacks available for guests.

Very nice and very clean, but very inconvenient to keep all food stored and consumed in the kitchen. The morning breakfast supplies were fun sources of carbohydrates, but provided no protein sources. Remember to bring eggs for breakfast and some type of protein for dinner if you're ever allowed to stay there. The money saved by not paying for the room can be usefully spent on groceries. I will definitely try to stay there again for any future visits to the NIH.

As a patient, I prefer when NIH puts me in a hotel. Staying at the Safra Lodge is like being locked up. lol. You can’t do much. And it takes so much effort to get off campus and get back on, especially on the weekends. Too many rules. Can’t eat in your room. Have to store your food and eat in the kitchen. My room has no desk to get work done.

Clean, friendly, and convenient. While construction is underway, you can take the shuttle or make the 5 min walk to Bldg 10. Rooms have gray linens and fresh towels. Laundry is available on the 3rd floot. Remember to bring detergent if you plan on washing your clothes. There are a variety of places to relax on the main floor, including a library and a nice, large, fully equipped kitchen. Remember to bring or order your groceries to be delivered from a nearby store so you can whip up a quick meal. Bldg 10 does have a Starbucks on the first floor with drinks and ready-to-eat food. There is also a decent cafeteria on the lower level of Bldg 10 in the older part of the building near Records.
