Econo Lodge Naval Station Norfolk

The cleanliness was amazing and everything was very tidy! As well as water and blankets being nice, Our only thing is that the bed were quite firmer than what we were use to having little to no give, though pillows are quite soft. I stayed here with my father to visit my brother and we were only 2 mins away so great location and at night the roads are typically pretty quiet as well as neighbors!

I stayed here for a week (end of October), My arrival was smooth, and check-in was quick since I arrived early and was very tired. All I wanted was a hot shower and to sleep. My first impression was the cleanliness and tidiness of the room. Everything was in its place, the toilet was clean and very white, and there were enough towels for my stay (I asked for replacements, and they kindly provided them). The lighting was sufficient for resting, the water was hot and had good pressure, the bed was comfortable, and the door was well-sealed to prevent outside noise. Regarding the location, it was very quiet for me, as I used the bus (the stop is 20 meters away) and Uber almost every day, in addition to a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Tho the lobby area looked beautiful the outside of the building and the room was less than what the website showed. A sign on the main entrance said something along the lines of please excuse the dust we are renovating. Obviously we were NOT in a renovated room. The spread had stains on it the blanket was old and pilling. There was ceiling damage over the shower. The sofa in the room was old and uncomfortable. The whole room smelled damp and musty. The staff were great but the quality was not. Would I recommend? Probably not. At least until the renovations are complete.

Positive: Quick and close to where I needed to be, decent neighborhood. Great for a solo when you’re dropping your kid off at base to grab a nap before the flight. Negative: The door didn’t close but the electric lock worked, secondary chain seemed useless. The tub had a big slice in it that was sharp. Coffee packs available but no bottled water.

Front desk staff were nice and the bed was comfortable. The floors were dirty and sticky. My socks were black from the dirt and whatever was on the floor. The toilet rocked and not in a good way. Lighting in the rooms and outside left something to be desired. Trash in the parking lot. Towel rack was coming off the wall. AC/heat was not easy to regulate. Tub floor had half the non-skid coating missing. Would not stay here again. I don't care if your business is in the middle of remodeling, there is no excuse for the condition of the room we stayed in.
