DoubleTree by Hilton Washington Dulles Airport

I'll preface this review by saying it was a comp room from United for a missed flight... But I will say we were thoroughly impressed with our stay. We were tired and irritated after missing our connection, and it was nice to have excellent customer service once we arrived to the hotel. We appreciated the shuttle to/from the airport. The front desk staff working the evening shift on 1/21/26 deserve a kudos- I don't recall their names. The next morning, the staff was also very friendly. The breakfast was pretty average for what you'd expect at a hotel. I will say, the hotel is pretty dated and in need of a facelift. However, to me, it felt like I took a step back into the 80's and gave a nostalgic feeling with the gold accents and arched windows in the breakfast room. I overheard a lady ther

It is a huge hotel with hundreds of rooms. Guest service is welcoming and great! However location is away from the Herndon city center, there is nothing nearby in walking distance. It has passed its golden age and look dated. Not well maintain as is going down hill. I think the maintenance team should step up and do a better job. Some of the issues can be fixed easily without much cost, but could drastically improve the overall feel. Example, all the elevator looks dirty and covered stains, on the door, around the edges, and most importantly, the control panel. DO NOT DISTRUB tag is missing, have to ask service desk to get another one. Also, not sure why they wanted to charge parking fee, it's not near any city center, nearby are just industrial settings.

Neat hotel. I explored the hotel and with all the twists and turns, low lighting, and so few guests, I kept thinking of “The Shining.”||The hotel does not have a pool. I assumed it did because of the pictures. The front desk graciously offered to let me cancel my reservation, but we stayed.||Check in was easy, and all staff were friendly and helpful. ||The room was clean.||It has a decent gym which we made good use of.||Quiet location for being next to an airport, I enjoyed sitting out front having my coffee.

The hotel provide airport shuttle. The room is clean and big. However, it feels a little old. The corridor to the room can be very long walk hence may be advisable to stay closer to the lift. Location wise there is nothing much except near to the airport.

I don't give 5 star reviews that often and I only stayed here 2 nights. This Hilton is in a transition period where it will become a Double Tree but Hilton, I'm glad someone at the front desk explained this to me. Location wise it's great for me with shuttle service to the hotel. I thought I would include some photos of the mini-fridge (refrigerator), since I want sure if they had one based on the reviews. I think this is a good spot and the price is alright, less than $200 a night after tax. I appreciate the on-site restaurants especially since they aren't that expensive. As for the room it's pretty good. I'm glad they have a large desk close to the TV since it helped with my work. My suggestion for improvement would be have signs showing where the elevators are.
