Courtyard by Marriott Rock Hill

We arrived around 8:00 p.m. and immediately noticed our room was extremely cold (55°F). The thermostat showed the heat was set to 80°F, but the room would not warm up. The heating unit would run for about five minutes and then shut off, and despite repeated attempts, the temperature only increased a degree or two. I called the front desk multiple times with no answer and eventually had to go downstairs in person. The front desk attendant appeared to be working alone and was on a call, which likely explains why the phone wasn’t answered. The front desk staff said maintenance would be notified. Maintenance did come up, checked the thermostat and wall unit, told me I should be good, but if the unit turned off again, turn the thermostat off, then back on. Unfortunately, this did not resolve

Issues Encountered:|1. Unwelcoming Front Desk Experience: Upon arrival, the front desk agent was cold, unwelcoming, and did not acknowledge Elite status. There was no greeting, no thank you, and no effort to build rapport. She simply handed over the keys and mentioned breakfast was available for a fee and pool closed.||2. Incorrect Room Assignment:|We were initially given a room that did not match our reservation. When we returned to the front desk to address this, the agent did not apologize or speak to us. she silently took the keys and reassigned us a new room.||3. Unsanitary Conditions and Missing Amenities:|The sofa bed in the new room was visibly stained and dirty. When we looked for linens and pillows, none were provided. Upon returning to the front desk, we were told there were no

Positive: Location Negative: The smell of the room, bad. The 3 days I was there my room was never cleaned. I found dirty towel behind the clothes dresser. I’ll never stay at this hotel again.

The stay was comfortable and accommodating, sadly the indoor pool is not heated but that’s okay. When we were checking out, we chose to use a gift card, one different than the card we put down in order to book the room. The front desk woman said we couldn’t do that, we asked her to involve a supervisor because we were told we could use a gift card beforehand. She called the supervisor, and after the supervisor told her she could use our gift card to cover the fee of the stay, the front desk woman rolled her eyes. She had a poor attitude with both us and her supervisor. She was wearing a pink headband and a had a pink flower straw topper on her thermos. I would have left a 5 star review if this hadn’t happened.

Amazing hotel! This is always my first choice when I travel to the area, and I consistently recommend it to colleagues, friends, and family. The location is the perfect blend of a business-friendly atmosphere with a peaceful, warm, and welcoming vibe. Despite all of these great qualities, the biggest wow factor that truly sets this place apart is the staff—most especially the General Manager, Chelsea. She is hospitality at its finest. Not only is Chelsea a genuinely delightful presence herself, but she also leads an exceptional team who consistently put their best foot forward and make every stay feel special.
