Clarion Pointe

look, this hotel was gross. there was someone else’s bar of soap in the shower on top of it looking like it was last cleaned months ago. the pressure was great…. until more than just a few people were checked in at the hotel. then it was abysmal.the bed was very comfortable, but if that’s all that it takes for this hotel to deserve a 5 star review, the bar is low. i guess breakfast is halfway okay? i just wish there was an easier way to access drinking water as a guest if they aren’t going to provide water bottles. my room also had a fair amount of rattling going on between the lights in the ceiling and the mini fridge. idk man i just would recommend taking your money elsewhere.

After a 12hr day of travel my husband and I checked in late evening. We noticed a strong wet dog smell but as we needed a dog friendly room, we didn't see any fur and the bedspreads looked clean so we shrugged it off. I ran a hot bath and got into the tub. This is when I saw it. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The bowl under the rim was black streaked where a toilet brush should have been used and hadn't. The base of the toilet where it bolts to the floor was so disgusting dirty I felt like throwing up. Urine, orange mold and hair, lots of hair and fur. |Then I noticed the steam of my tub brought out writing on the mirror where someone had written in steam, it hadn't been windexed. The bottom 12" of the white shower curtain was pink mold and there were soap scum lines from

roomed looked neat and clean on arrival, but it had a distinct wet dog smell. i dont mind some doggy smell and as we had two, all that mattered was the bedspread was clean. two hours after check in and a long day of travel i ran a hot bath and got in. thats when i noticed the toilet. the bottom of the toilet on the tub side was covered in dried pee, orange mold, and hair, lots of hair. the bowl itself was filthy as well with black staining running down under the rim. i was disgusted. i also noticed dark dirt around the plunger. the mirror showed where someone before had written in the steam, so if it hadnt been windexed either. top it off with a pink moldy shower curtain. it was very clear that the immediatey visable parts of the bathroom were ever cleaned. the bottom of the toilet on th

Don’t be swayed by the “Clarion” in the name. While we’ve had good experience at actual Clarion hotels…apparently Choice hotels buys outdated properties, literally “papers over” their faults with murals on the walls…and calls it a Clarion “Pointe.” This location was not desirable, the building was old, the room smelled overwhelmingly of cleaner/disinfectant; in lobby there were dirt piles that had been swept up but not disposed of. Bathroom was not perfectly clean, with a stray hair and dirt/mildew in some of the corners and seams. No bed bugs. Towels were pretty thin. Staff was neutral. Sleep and leave…will not return. Maybe this is fine for a single guy, but not in any way comfortable for a family. Will not stay in another Pointe again, and will more carefully vet any Choice hotel in fut

The staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room was very decent and I was thankful for the wide interior corridor and room access. The breakfast spread had nothing I could use except an apple though. Maybe I’m just pickier than most; first time in years I’ve left a hotel hungry. It’s a great location, quiet area, restaurants and coffee, snacks etc are not too far away. I would definitely recommend for long-distance travelers looking for a good balance between low price and comfort. If I drive to Ohio again, I will likely stay here.
