Comfort Inn & Suites Olathe - Kansas City

For the price of the rooms this place is just about perfect. For us who were just traveling through it was easy to get to and surrounded by eateries. The rooms are well kept up, neat and clean, with a comfortable bed. There is also a pretty good breakfast included. My biggest complaint is that, in our case anyway, we could hear the neighbors tv and the sounds of conversation. You couldn't make out the words but you could hear that they were talking and coughing.

Place is very dirty and dusty due to renovations. All the carpet is bubbling up and installed poorly. Not safe for anyone with a disability as anyone can trip on the carpet in the hallways and room. No lights in dining and wires hanging from ceiling. Dust on dining large table and side tables in dining area. Installed tile in bathroom is stained dirty. Rusty shower curtain rod. Kleenex box was wet Kleenex and smelled of chemicals. Garbage bags all over pool and a thick film visible in the pool with sediment or something on the bottom of the pool. Side stairs had trim ripped off with strong chemical odor, doors open with boxes of material visible. I would most likely stay here again, I don’t know if I’d necessarily recommended it to someone else. They had a good range of options for breakfast, that I don’t see at other hotels. They had a staff there is very friendly. Though, I will say that this location needs some renovations. Some parts of the carpet in my room looked like it was about to put out and looks like it needs to be extracted. I can only assume that other parts/rooms were similar to my room. That’s the only reason I’d gave this Comfort Inn a 6/10. Despite that, other areas in the room were clean. If they fix the carpet and cleaned it I would 10/10 recommend this hotel to someone else.

Overall, this visit was pretty low on the scale of overall quality. This wasn't my first time staying at this location, and last time was much better. The man who checked me in at the front desk was on the phone the entire time I was checking in. I don't know if it was with another guest or someone else (it didn't sound like a conversation with a guest though), and he barely spoke to me. He handed me the key and said 'here's your key, that's the Wi-Fi, breakfast is in there' and dismissed me, getting back to his conversation. The room was fine, nothing special. The breakfast was pretty terrible though, both days were exactly the same. The tater tots on Saturday tasted like reheated tots from the Friday breakfast,. The gravy sat to 6 long in the vat and got dried it and coagulated on top.

The price is the only good thing about this hotel. Room was very dirty. Blood stain on pillow case. It was replaced by another pillow with a different unidentified stain. When you walk barefoot on the floor and then step into the bath tub dirt washes off your feet. The elevator smelled so bad. you had to hold your breath. It was so bad, the person I was traveling with was to meet me in the lobby but on the way down he remembered he needed to take a #2 as soon as he stepped into the elevator and confronted the odor. Front desk was bored at their job and not helpful. We tried to laugh this hotel off by playing a game.... "What's that smell and Name that stain" !! My suggestion, find another hotel near by.
