Candlewood Suites Olathe - Kansas City Area by IHG

I am a guest who overheard what happened with that lady’s husband. “Kerry” was extremely patient and respectful whereas the lady’s wife and the husband were extremely disrespectful and loud. I overheard the wife saying she works for candlewood as well and am appalled at the treatment she was giving to the staff. I am very impressed with how they stayed calm and respectful even when the TX employee was cussing them out and causing disorder. I will be giving the TX location a 1 star for how the staff member represented herself on the phone. All this for a pot/ frying pan!!! Those other people need to learn some manners. So amazed with our staff for how they handled that 👏

The staff at this hotel consistently went out of their way to take care of all my needs.The Manager, Scott, helped whenever I had an issue or inquiry. If something needed adjusting, it was handled immediately. I felt very much at home there, which is rare. The staff is available 24/7 and extremely responsive. I got to know all the staff members there and I was treated like a VIP. Although there is no restaurant inside the facility, there is a great laundry area and well-equipped gym. The location was perfect for what I needed- there are restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance as well. Despite the nearby businesses, the building is tucked away in a quiet area. We've stayed at this property 3 times total. We like having a separate bedroom and the kitchenette. The hotel is near our relatives and it gives us our own space when we need down time. The employees have always been pleasant and helpful. Be sure to ask for a room on the parking lot side of the building. The highway side rooms are incredibly noisy due to 20+ hour a day heavy semi truck traffic on I-35. The parking lot lights are very bright and are not blocked by the curtains in the room. Our room's mattress needed to be changed out as it had definite 'imprints' where former guests had slept. On the upside, the living room couch and chair were comfortable and new. My husband moves military families state to state and the company he works for books his reservations for him. So he comes in with a cc authorization each time he stays with IHG. Very very rude staff. Her name is Kerry. He checked in 12/31/25. She spoke to him very condescending saying he’s reservation wasn’t paid which it was she never attempted to look for cc form! He was tired coming off the road driving 8 hours why as a diamond member does he have to deal with such incompetence!!! He felt profiled!!! Please retrain your staff!!! Absolutely ridiculous treatment!!

My wife and I were there from early March to early July. We had to have our house repaired, because of somebody driving a car into it. This place was very friendly and very clean. The the people were great to be around, and friendly, and know your name. I'd like to give a shout out to Scott the manager, Carmen the daytime receptionist who always had a big smile, Carrie the evening lady that would check you in. She knew your name and was interested in your life. The cleaning crew , always did a great job , sorry if I missed anybody . I know a lot of construction people stay there. But so do families I would highly recommend this place. The whole staff is great. Whenever we needed something they were right there.
