Clarion Inn & Suites Florence – Darlington Unfortunately, my stay was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Upon entering the room, it was clear that cleanliness and maintenance standards were not being met. The bed sheets were visibly damaged and torn, and there were insects on the floor, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one charging a security deposit. The walls and ceiling showed severe damage, including holes, peeling paint, and water stains. Vent covers were heavily dirty, and multiple areas of the room appeared neglected and poorly maintained. These conditions raise serious concerns about hygiene and guest safety. We prebooked this site on Expedia which had good reviews. Nothing could have been further from the truth. This property is in a very unsafe location with parking in an unlit alley. The property itself is very rundown and dirty with roaches and broken toliet seats. We declined to stay despite prepaying and the manager said he would refund half of our stay but did not (from the receipt, it looks like he paid himself the refund personally). The pictures are absolutely fake.

The hotel was a dump! I understand that it appears to being renovated, butoverall it is an embarasment Why not just close it, complete one section and then reopen. it looks that they are renovating roms all over the property, so the whole thing looks poor. Further, on your webdsute you offer breakfast, in reality, you offer nothing! ??In the loby area there is a set-up for coffee, but again, there is only the hardware (coffee maker, cups, etc.). In the rooms, there is a coffee maker that makes only 6 oz at a time. Clarion used to be a hotel/motel that had nice clean rooms at a My room was recently renovated, but the tub had it's enamel peeling off??? Stay at your own risk. This is the sketchiest hotel we have ever stayed at. Booked late arrival through Expedia after looking at pictures. Pictures are not of this hotels current condition. Green sludge in pool with lawn chair floating in it. Rooms smelling of smoke and vomit. Granddaughter took off her shoes and socks and the soles of her feet were black in a few minutes. Turned on the water in the tub to wash them off and Brown sludge came out. Slept in our clothes. Parking lot had shady characters waiting outside their cars (illicit activity?). This is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Sketchy people hanging around outside. Rooms dirty, flies everywhere. $100 charge, not a hold per room. The pool is filled with green swamp water. 1) The floors are dirty and grungy. 2) The drains don’t empty. 3) The furniture smells really moldy. 4) No Fire Alarm System or fire extinguishers are not inspected. 5) Various handrails are not working or broken on the stairways. 6) Barbecue grills laid out everywhere with no fire extinguishers nearby and ash, everywhere from the grills. 7) Door to my room would not lock properly. 8) Door to the bathroom was missing the bottom half. The room had a nice view, but there were cockroaches, room was not clean. The bedsheet and blankets had yellow stains, and the room had a strong smell of cig
