Best Western North Phoenix Hotel

I am not someone who ever leaves reviews, especially not negative reviews but I am not really sure where all the 5 star reviews are coming from. This hotel does not resemble the photos that are online. I was shocked when I walked into the lobby and even more shocked when I walked into the room. The rooms are so small, and mine smelt like mildew. Our pullout sofa had no sheets on it, the mattress protector was stained and ripped as well as there were no sheets or blankets to be found within the room for the pullout sofa. The staff was very kind and helpful to fix this solution but I can say this hotel was not worth what I paid. My air conditioning worked but did not sound how it should, was VERY loud and shaky. The General Manager would not refund my reservations when I canceled 23 versus 24 hours in advance over a family emergency I had. Pretty sorry service. Not to mention it took me calling 3 times plus an email to even FINALLY get a call back!!!! I guess a little bit of profit supersedes customer satisfaction. I was looking at bringing in 45-50 clients and reserve 25-28 rooms on one of my group 5 day bus tours. I certainly won't consider them now if that's the kind of service he offers. That tells me they certainly would appease my clients if one were to have a complaint. Not impressed by the customer service or lack of returning calls. My room was clean and comfortable, the location was great for where I needed to go which was 4 minutes away, the service is the reason I am giving 5 stars and it all goes to ASHLEY!!! Ashley was so amazing for the brief time i met her. She made me felt like she has known me for years and had me laughing so much!! She made my stay here fun and my job is having me come back in 2 weeks for a week stay, and because of Ashley I am choosing to stay here. When I got checked in I didnt feel welcomed or friendly service at all, everyone else was very nice and sweet but I feel that Ashley goes out of her way to get to know everyone and make us feel as if we are at home in an unknown place. We only had a 1 night stay but it was great. Check in by Michelle was friendly, and the room was big, well equipped and the bed also huge, comfortable and clean. The air con and fridge were very loud but we didn't need them thankfully so could silence them. We were facing the car park and road but it seems the hotel was very quiet and all you could hear was the odd door, elevator whine and cars outside so we had a good sleep. Breakfast was fantastic! Cereals, yoghurt and fruit, eggs, bacon, veg with toast of bagels or tortilla and some pastries and an amazing pancake machine that you just have to try! We didn't get time for the gym, pool etc but they looked great too. Friendly staff and a modern environment and decor. Fab!

The room smelled like mold but they were so booked up they couldn't give us another room. Paid an extra $25 for a late checkout and was interrupted by the cleaning staff TWICE in that timeframe and they opened the door on us one of the times. Great location and honestly the only good thing going for this place. (At least my experience)
