Baymont by Wyndham Texas City

I stayed in this hotel for one night to catch my cruise in Galveston on the day after. Rooms are clean, big size and very comfortable. Personnel are very polite, very courteous and helpful. Location is excellent and quiet no far from I45. My room was facing the outside with a small balcony The only thing that should be a little better is the breakfast.It is very basic. I would recommend it to everyone.

We stayed here the night before our cruise... From looking at a map, we liked the general location, but we definitely would not stay here again. It's not a safe-feeling area. At check-in, the gentleman at the front was dressed very casual (vs professional) in a random-branded sweatshirt. We weren't greeted, and despite the hotel sending me multiple texts to confirm my stay and having me check in online, they said they didn't have my reservation. Turns out, they checked someone else in under my name. He didn't take any responsibility and played dumb to how that could happen - which led to me being concerned about identity theft. We got a room, but there was a wiggling, upside-down roach on the bathroom floor. When we came back from ubering to dinner, the same guy who checked us in was play

Beds/bedding/pillows are comfy!! It’s a clean hotel. Pool was a good temp. We are military & had a scheduling mishap and I was past our free cancellation time, but they were still able to accompany us for different days no hesitation. 2nd time with baymont hotels and both times the customer service has been superior! I enjoyed how quiet this hotel was as well. It is about 20 minutes out from Galveston Seawall, but we didn’t mind. Housekeeper was really nice as well! Breakfast- it’s decent for a free breakfast, regular coffee, Texas waffles, cereal, oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, apples and banana. Juice is VERY sweet though. But the juice is my only real con and didn’t affect my 5* rating. I will stay again.

I would not recommend staying at this property. From entry to the lobby to checkout this property is extremely subpar. The lobby is extremely dark and musty. Our key sleeve had been used several times prior. Our room was hot and very musty upon entry. The blow dryer was torn off the wall. The shower shampoo dispenser was empty. Our bed had blood on the side of the mattress cover. The TV remote had dead batteries. The mini kitchen had no supplies other than a large butcher knife. The security lock on the door had been kicked in previously. All my clothes I had packed for a two week cruise now had a musty odor from just 10 hours in this room. I didn’t feel comfortable and couldn’t sleep due to condition of this property. There were very few cars in the parking lot and I certainly understand

Positive: Everyday fresh towels were delivered, the trash was taken away and the bed was made. I haven?t experienced this level of service since pre COVID. Negative: Everything was exceptional in the hotel.
