Aloft Florence

Arrived this evening after driving for 14 hours and found that our three reserved rooms were given to other guests. After listening to lie after lie from the front desk, we were told the rooms were not clean. And at 10 pm in the evening, there was no housekeeping. Called the Bonvoy customer service line and was told we would have to drive 30 miles to find another Marriott-associated hotel. Finally, they cleaned a room and we all stayed in one room. Cleaned? The bathroom floor was filthy and sticky. If Marriott had a shred of integrity, they would condemn this hotel and retire the Aloft brand. Note photos of disgusting grime on bathroom floor -- that is my footprint.And filth in shower. Even more disgusting is the Customer Service received from Bonvoy HQ .

Positive: Toiletries ( I wish I could buy the lotion commercially!). Front desk staff all super friendly. Room was very comfy and had everything that I needed. Negative: Staff were talking outside of my room at 5:00AM and that was odd as it was audible while in bed. Probably just luck of the draw.

The rooms are nice, not cleaned exactly to Marriott standards. Don't stay on the bottom floor... you'll be able to hear everything from the lobby and the bar. Staff let's it go on all night, and I had to hear what sounded like a bowling alley from the second floor for 3 nights in a row. Called the front desk on the 3rd night after being awakened in the dead of night at midnight by what sounded like a hippo falling through the roof.

Absolutely horrible. We arrived late and check in clerk barely said two words. Got to our room and floor was sticky. I thought well maybe it’s just soooo clean it left a little residue. No. Trash under table, hair all over bathroom , disgusting. Front desk clerk moved us but he was not at all apologetic about the situation. New room was clean - as far as I could see. Upon checking out the next morning, we learned that several others had been placed in dirty room and in fact the night clerk had not changed anything in the system so they didn’t know who was in what room or if it was occupied or not. Could’ve been a dangerous issue if someone entered a room thinking it was vacant to find it already filled.

I had a great stay at the Aloft Florence, SC. The hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable, and the atmosphere was welcoming from the moment I arrived. A special shoutout to Tyrecus at the front desk—he was absolutely outstanding. Tyrecus was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. His positive attitude and helpfulness truly made a difference and set the tone for a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying here again!
