Customer Reviews
I was with a group staying in an Airbnb nearby and we had to leave in the middle of the night due to plumbing issues. The Wyndham was able to accommodate our group immediately, which made a stressful time at 3am a lot better. Charlotte at the front desk was amazing, she booked our rooms quickly and was so friendly and helpful. the rooms were very nice, beds very comfortable. I’d definitely stay again the next time I’m in the area!
Positive: Nice spacious and clean rooms. Ample parking and had all the amenities we needed for a nice stay in Newport Negative: ""
This hotel has all the charm of a cinder block, but none of the production value. The folks running the place are perfectly nice, but this is the cheapest constructed hotel I've ever been in. The walls are paper thin, the flooring is plastic, the showers are awful. It's the most shoddily constructed hotel I've ever been in that was supposedly a decent hotel. Yes, it has views of the bay. But so does the deer Island water treatment facility. And the latter probably has better showers.
This is the worst resort I’ve been to. There is no free liquor, the pool and gym is small. There’s no massages, or hot tubs. It’s a very terrible resort. The downtown shuttle is a cool idea. Except, it’s not a resort. It’s a hotel, it’s a very great hotel. Then why do they charge a resort fee? $22 resort fee may not seem like a big deal but it’s a deceptive price tactic taking advantage of us consumers. We are a long way from Vegas. They do it to appear cheap online then charge additional costs at checkout by wrapping up very common amenities. Wifi only included under the resort fee? That means they are close to a budget airline. Doesn’t feel like a easyjet hotel, why do bad price tactics. Great hotel otherwise. Love it.
The hotel was located on the outskirts of Newport. It was just a short trip over a causeway to get into Newport. The hotel was quiet and the amenities were very nice. I was there for a conference for a full day and a half, but stayed two nights. I liked the rooms because they did not have carpeting and it had a walk-in shower. There was also a couch with a large window and you had your choice of a blackout shade or a sun shade. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The parking in the back was close to the entrance. I also appreciated the mini fridge and microwave in the room.
