The Carriage House Inn Newport

We stayed at the Carriage House Inn in Newport and felt like we got a great deal....likely because we booked the day before. We arrived on a Friday night around 9pm and were greeted by a very kind staff member at the door, which set a nice tone right away. The room was absolutely worth the price. This is a historic house, and you can feel that charm throughout... it’s one of the older homes in Newport, but in a good way. Our room was simple and comfortable with a king bed, private bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, and a TV that worked perfectly. Everything we needed for a one-night stay. The location was ideal and made it easy to walk or quickly get where we wanted to go. Staff was friendly and helpful during our stay. We didn’t try breakfast because we had plans to line up early elsewhe

Everything about our stay was great! We were greeted by Milton at check in and he explained areas to get food or drinks. Our room was spotlessly clean and cozy! The continental breakfast had many fresh options like sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, muffins, along with fresh coffee, teas, and hot cocoa! We will certainly try staying again when the weather is warmer to enjoy everything Newport has to offer!

Our stay was lovely from beginning to end. The hotel staff was kind and knowledgeable. They had a,recommendation for every type of food we wanted. They were very accommodating and the evening clerk even got ice for us so we wouldn't have to do it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.

Positive: Easy access to main road. Continental breakfast was good. Negative: Bathroom fixtures were old. Poor water pressure. No bath mats in tub. Tub very slippery. Ceiling lights did not work.

We checked in,the room smelled incredibly strongly of some undetermined smell. So much so both me and my friend were feeling sick to our stomach within 20 minutes. Room is a bare minimum room. Bathroom incredibly dated. Vent fan in bathroom sounded like a truck engine it was so loud. Front desk staff was friendly enough. Location is quiet. Another bad sign is they have a little poster at check in offering free drinks,candy etc…to people who give them positive reviews. Which I believe has highly skewed their Google rating.
