Homewood Suites by Hilton Newport Middletown, RI

We rarely stay at Homewood suites since we are Marriott people but given the holiday weekend and both the price and quality of nearby Marriott properties we opted to stay here.||Ok it's Newport on a holiday weekend but close to $300 for this property is a joke. Yes it was a suite(mini suite) and a newer hotel but wow!||The room was nice except don't run the dishwasher at night if you want to sleep since it is incredibly loud. And the water pressure in the bathroom was pitiful.||Some positives was Madison at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was much better than the equivalent at Marriott properties. A bigger more interesting selection.||Despite the price it was a good stay.

First time to the Newport area, so expensive to stay in downtown Newport so I was skeptical about staying in Middletown but I was so impressed. Getting to Newport and the beaches was so easy. Also first time traveling with a 1 year old and this hotel was so accommodating, they immediately had a very clean pack-and-play brought to the room as we checked in. Breakfast options were creative and consistent, a departure from many lackluster hotel breakfast options these days.

Clean rooms. Bathroom showers need updating. Hallways could have used vacuuming. Breakfast was good. The staff was very welcoming. I would stay again.

Positive: Kind staff Negative: Just that our children needed to enter the bedroom my husband and I stayed in to access the bathroom. Dimmer switches in lights would be helpful.

Called the Homewood Newport my home for three weeks. The staff were friendly, rooms were clean and well appointed, and overall the hotel went out of their way to make me feel at home. It almost felt like I was staying with a friend they did such a great job of creating a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast of course was great and is at the top of a similar priced hotel brand. The Wednesday social was also a pleasant addition to break up the mundane of living out of a hotel.
