Wild Rice Retreat

My February visit to Wild Rice Retreat was peaceful and restorative, with twinkling stars at night and sparkling snow during the day. It is nestled in the woods with views of Lake Superior and Madeline Island. I loved the history of the restaurant building and the easy distance into downtown Bayfield. The staff members were great, especially when they kindly helped me after my car got stuck in the snow. Thank you so much!! My Treehouse room was small but perfectly appointed; light sleepers may want earplugs. I’d love to see composting added and perhaps a 360° room view online. Everything was nearby on the property but some bumpy or snow-packed walkways. Overall, a wonderful weekend getaway that proved to be a perfect spot for a yoga retreat!

The Wild Rice Retreat is nestled among tall evergreens on the shore of Lake Superior. It offers classes for self development/awareness, yoga, and many opportunities to connect with nature, whether actively or passively. The accommodations are tasteful, thoughtful, serene. The food is delicious, and if you have a sensitivity or allergy, you'll have delicious options to choose from. The staff is welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a stay here. You can unwind, re-set, be creative, rest, whatever you need. Oh...and the 24 hour sauna is wonderful!

Wild Rice Retreat was the most peaceful, intentional space I have ever been in. There is a feeling of comfort and safety from the moment you arrive. The food was phenomenal and has inspired me to make changes in my daily nourishment at home. The beds in the rice pod were extremely comfortable and I got amazing sleep. The staff were all calm, friendly, and helpful. Thank you for a beautiful experience!

I was at Wild Rice for a retreat in mid-February, and it was absolutely wonderful! It was light snowing all the time and made it feel like a snow globe. The atmosphere was so peaceful, allowing for a great place to reset. I would recommend Wild Rice to anyone, and plan to visit Wild Rice again!

My husband and I just stayed at Wild Rice Retreat for a ‘mini-moon’ after we got married in Duluth. The minute we walked into the Retreat Center we could feel how peaceful and relaxing our stay would be. The cabins were beautiful and well-designed, we liked that we were able to choose which classes we wanted to attend each day (since we also wanted to explore Bayfield), we also enjoyed 24/7 access to the sauna and rainfall showers, and lastly, the food was amazing!!! Each meal was delicious with plenty of variety, and it was nice knowing we were putting healthy food into our bodies with each bite. We will definitely be back! :)
