Great Water Inn (formerly “At Ship’s Quarters)

I loved staying here. The Roku TV that automatically signs you out of streaming services after you leave is awesome, the big jacuzzi tub is awesome, the room is CUTE, I love how everything is local (the art, the coffee, the mugs). And I really do appreciate the owner calling us to make sure we got all the information to access our rooms. If you are ever visiting the Bayfield area, I highly recommend staying here.

My new husband and I stayed at Ships Quarters Jenny E room for our honeymoon in August, 2006. I found it on the internet and was impressed at the photos and reasonable price. (around 100 a night, reasonable for the area) We were married in Two Harbors and were told by management that a key would be waiting for us upon our arrival. To our disappointment we were locked out of the room and had to go through quite a wild goose chase to obtain a key. We ended up driving to the management property in order to pick up our key due to a mix up with the property manager. Not a big deal, but we were exhaused and it wasn't an ideal way to start our stay.|That being said, we were thrilled with the room. What a great location and experience! The Great water Inn is middle of downtown where you can easily access restaurants, shops, and historical landmarks. There were three spaces in the back alley but they also had street parking in front. We did not have any issues finding parking and were able to park in the alley spots. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the perfect room set up with a mini fridge and microwave too when we had leftovers. This is such a great find at such a great price! If you’re looking for a place to stay, this is it!

The room was gorgeous, the bed was really comfortable, and the big jet tub was a bonus. I loved the little nook with the loveseat, and all the local touches in the room; from the name of the room and what it means, to the artwork, soap, coffee, and mugs! It was truly a fantastic place to stay and will definitely be staying again.

This darling room with attached private bathroom and jacuzzi tub was fantastic. When we arrived the place was very clean and comfortable. The communications prior to arriving were very clear and did not need any further communications. Everything was done by email and/or text so there was no need to play phone tag with anyone. The location is about perfect. It is not right on the lake, but you can practically fall out of bed and roll down the hill to the shops, restaurants, ferries, and cruises. I have no complaints about the accommodations. If I had to make one suggestion of how to make it even better, I'd simply say replace the Queen bed with a King, and that is only because I have a King size at home so getting used to a Queen was a bit of an adjustment.
