Impeccable. I honestly don’t know where to begin. We loved every moment of our stay at the St James Social and our time in Bayfield. It’s truly magical in winter. The design of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the service exceeded expectations, views of Lake Superior while you sauna was a highlight, the proximity to shopping and downtown Bayfield was wonderful and the restaurant and bar are delicious. We ate at the restaurant every day of our stay. Dinner two nights in a row, and Sunday brunch before we departed. The menu sources locally ingredients very thoughtfully - crème brûlée topped with Wisconsin cranberries, ettouffee with Lake Superior whitefish, and the best filet mignon I’ve ever had, a perfectly cooked medium rare burger and freshly sliced American fries, and a fabulous chees

I absolutely loved our stay at St James this summer. It was our first time up to Lake Superior and our first impression of Bayfield. The location has the style and setup of a modern Airbnb. You are mostly left to your own to navigate checkin, checkout, using the amenities, and taking advantage of the rooftop. If you have questions or need assistance, it's a quick text response. We stayed a couple nights as part of a longer road trip. We met the owners after we arrived, they run the restaurant/bar downstairs. The place was gorgeous, packed with customers - a great spot for dinner or just drinks. Highly suggest a stay if you are in the area.

Yea, we traveled almost 10 hours by car to stay here for a weekend - we got the looks every time we mentioned it but I’ve gotta say: worth it. Bayfield is a teeny town (less than 600 population) with the cozy, casual feel of a much larger town. The red “open” signs around town helped us discover stores and restaurants. But the hotel - St. James Hotel was everything it promised to be. Ready, welcoming, unfussy and beautifully executed in design and comfort. The sauna was a big draw, the European breakfast divine, the restaraunt service was delicious (ask for Ahron if you can, he’s amazing). We hiked the Houghton trials, drove on frozen Lake Superior, tried several distilleries around and can’t wait to come back in another season for more adventure.

We did not stay at the hotel. We went in with friends for a drink. We walked in and could not believe the decor! It was unbelievably beautiful. From the lighting to the, bar and into the dining room was this very elegant and inviting dining. Then on top of it. Molly was playing fun music that just topped the whole vibe of the place. A must see and based on the restaurant. If we need hotel accommodations we would definitely stay there. Thank you two the owners and their daughters for making it a fun night in bayfield!!

We had a great weekend getaway at St. James Social. Annalisa and her staff were absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to get to know! The rooms were very comfortable means the sauna was an added bonus. The food from the restaurant was second to none from the entrees to the dessert (think marvelous creme brulee). The coffee drinks are also top-notch and not to be missed. Overall, a wonderful, peaceful stay and we will definitely be back!
