TownePlace Suites by Marriott Springfield

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at a Marriott property. What should have been a simple two-night stay turned into a frustrating and unacceptable experience. After driving for 11 hours, I arrived around 6 AM expecting a smooth check-in. Instead, the front desk agent, Cody, took over an hour to check me in. When I politely asked why it was taking so long, he responded with a dismissive attitude and even said he could cancel my reservation if I didn’t want to wait. His behavior quickly escalated—he became rude, unprofessional, and even started cursing. This is completely unacceptable for any hospitality environment. The issues didn’t stop there. The staff was excellent. Our television was not working and they sent up a person to take a look at it. He was not able to repair it until the morning which was OK. We had our tablets with us, so we use them. The bed was comfortable we needed extra pillows. They provided those for us plenty of light nice cold, working refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. There’s a desk and a table to eat at breakfast was good. Coffee is hot.

Overall the experience was fine. However not what I typically experience in a Marriott. The rooms are definitely due for updates. Everything in the bathrooms had rust/moisture damage. They should invest in a refresh because they are in a safe, convenient, and, centrally located area. The room was clean and functional and the price was competitive. Also, lots of restaurants right near by and a Lidl grocery store across the street.

Positive: The kitchen availability Negative: I was lied to at the time of reservation staying there was an indoor and outdoor pool which was 2nd requirement for the hotel. The toilet is room was lopsided, pictures online of the facility was a bit smaller then was pics online.

The front desk agent, Diamond, truly made our day extra special. Not only does her name sparkle, but her personality does as well. The hotel was very clean, and we appreciated the breakfast area and the 24/7 coffee station. What more could we ask for? Great service and excellent overall hotel condition. The location is also convenient just steps away from groceries and restaurants.
