The Townsman

This is a great place to stay, super convenient in downtown Charlottesville. Beautiful cozy room; we had a great time. The only items I would mention be mindful of....there's no elevators, so toading luggage was a chore. Also unfortunately the sink in our room drained very slowly, so we had to be mindful of that when getting ready. Lastly, we could hear the other guest stay there through the vents, not a big deal but something we noticed. Outside of that it was a wonderful stay, we would definitely return.

Had a lovely stay in “The Faulkner” room this past weekend. This small four room “unhotel” is located right on the downtown mall in the perfect location for easy access to anything you need. Even staying so close to the mall, the room was insulated nicely and was quiet throughout the entire night.|While not a traditional hotel, the check in experience is completely virtual. The management company was extremely responsive and even got us an early check in due to some open availability. The room itself was super clean, and the balcony on the back was a nice added touch. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a nice stay close to the downtown mall. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic stay! Such a hidden gem, well priced, had everything we needed. Will 100% be back! Of note, there are people above the first level, and it was fairly loud in the morning/evening. Bathrooms were clean. Bed would be much improved with a mattress topper or better mattress. Overall 10/10 experience!

Loved the esthetic of the room, the location was great, decent urban view out the window, easy entrance eith the door codes and instructions, and comfortable all around. The sound machine was a very nice touch. I didn't know sound machines could be so nice (it's a snooz which is apparently a high-end sound machine). Also a nespresso machine in the room was nice to have. Only complaints was that the thermostat was quirky (I couldn't get the place just right, but it was still generally comfortable) and the bed was very very firm, which is just not my style. Otherwise excellent experience.

Stayed here for one night midweek for a show at the Jefferson theatre. Pretty much perfect and wish I could stay longer. Great location right on the Mall, excellent bathroom and the shower is amazing. Very pleased to have a fridge and I’d forgotten my noise machine so there being one in the room was an excellent touch. Thank you for being considerate. To sum up, Townsman is as luxurious as the Omni without the expensive price tag.
