Residence Inn by Marriott Charlottesville Downtown

Definitely the most updated, clean, and organized extended stay hotel we’ve stayed in. The rooms are fairly updated with comfortable beds, and of course the stocked kitchenette with a full frig (w/ice maker!), microwave, and stovetop makes anything from a long weekend to a longer stay totally manageable. I was surprised to see an indoor pool! Very convenient for swimmers. I used the gym almost every morning and it was well equipped with dumbbells, bench, treadmills, ellipticals, and a bike. I would propose they need a mat for sit-ups etc, but an otherwise great space. We ate the breakfast only once, and it was ok. There was no grab n go fruit, and the cut fruit bowl was empty the entire time we were there (I saw them filling it as we were walking out, long past any rush). I would welcome b

Perfect hotel for a weekend trip to Charlottesville. Good location when arriving from the train station and to get to the downtown core. The room was very spacious and had nice amenities, and the staff was welcoming and professional. The breakfast was nothing groundbreaking but it at least had some hot options, and of course, hot coffee/tea. Would stay here again.

Basic hotel that got the job done for us. Didn’t like the $20 a night parking fee based on the room rate, but was nice to have a garage. Good location to walk to things. Breakfast was included and decent, but 0730-0930 were odd hours. Room was clean, but the furniture had seen better days. Good temperature and pressure from the shower. Didn’t acknowledge gold status at check-in.

I have stayed at dozens of Residence Inns across the U.S. and Canada. This hotel is certainly the best and highly recommended. From the location, to the rooms, the breakfast, abundant parking, courteous service, and cleanliness, this location is unmatched. The suites are modern, spacious and the bathrooms are a decent size. I spent two nights here and had great sleep on both nights. The staff at breakfast work incredibly hard to make sure everyone is served and the service is great. What's even better, they have a number of gluten-free options which are listed and displayed in the buffet area. These items are available upon request and are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Positive: The staff was very friendly. The room was immaculate. We were permitted to check-in a bit early, which was also appreciated. They have an excellent hot breakfast selection. This is a great choice in Charlottesville and right downtown. Negative: NO
