Me and my wife visited the inn for valentine's day. What a beautiful historical place. I've never felt so comfortable before. This place gives such a warm feeling. You really feel at home, not like in a hotel. We had a suite, which was absolutely gorgeous, with a sitting room and a second bedroom. The management and service was top notch. And the breakfast is a different story, omg. 2 blocks away from downtown Broadway or whatever you call it, with all the restaurants and bars. Literally a 2 minute walk. Will definitely be coming back. I would suggest before booking, called the place to talk about what room you should get. Because they are all different.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend, and what a fun experience! Candace made our visit an absolute pleasure - I cannot say enough great things about her and her beautiful B&B. We stayed in the Susannah Fowler room, which was painted a beautiful yellow with teal accents coming from much of the furniture. The bed was large and comfortable, and we slept perfectly. I've seen other reviewers fondly mention the breakfasts, and they are right. Every morning we were greeted with gracious service, excellent coffee, and amazingly tasty food. In the evening, Candace was often around, so we got a chance to chat, have some wine, and talk restaurant recommendations. She even pulled a favor and got us into dinner at a spot that seemingly had no availability :) If you're going to Charlotte

At the end of a long day of driving, our host Candace was waiting out front of her lovely inn guiding us where to park. Helping with our luggage, she showed us to our room and sat us down afterwards for a drink and snack. She helped us decide where to dine and made the best suggestion within walking distance and called them to let us know we were on our way. Her warm welcome and helpful advise, let us feeling very well cared for.| The room was cozy, clean and comfy. Breakfast the next morning in her dining area was perfect, with equally caring staff John and Pat. It was the perfect start to a wonderful road trip.

This is probably the nicest and most unique place I have ever stayed. My husband and I came to Charlottesville for my 30th birthday and as a nice trip together before our baby is here, and I don't think we could have stayed at a more perfect place. The DeLoach family has restored these buildings to their former historical glory and filled them with character that enhances their homey and eclectic charm. The entire weekend we raved about how beautiful the house is! The innkeeper Candace is so warm, welcoming and accommodating, and makes you feel at home and well taken care of. We stayed in the Edward Butler room, the largest room in the main house, which had a whirlpool tub in the bathroom and a fireplace in the bedroom. Every decorative detail was curated to add to the cozy charm. We wer

I loved my stay here. Fantastic hotel with excellent hospitality. This is NOT a clinical, copy and paste, chain hotel where every room is identical and every version of the brand looks the same as every other version. If you want an anonymous, sterile feel, then this is not for you. Instead, you have the oldest building in Charlottesville and a team that welcomes you in as if you're family. From the welcome drink to the comfy bed, tea/coffee/water/fruit/home made cookies available in the hallway. Plus, a brilliant breakfast freshly made every morning by Chef John. Delicious, healthy, nutritious. Do not stay here if you prefer cold, anonymous, sterile, all-you-can-eat buffets with enouch calories to make an Olympic athlete feel they've eaten too much. Do stay here if you like a war
