The Parkview Hotel

Stayed three nights to be near a family member in the hospital. Very convenient location. As a female solo traveler, at first I was concerned when they told me to drive through a narrow passageway to park my car but I was relieved to find the parking lot well lit and very close to the secure back entrance. I stayed on the second floor. The bed was comfortable, room clean , bathroom was nicely updated, and the wooden window blinds worked just fine. Heater worked fine. Had friendly desk service, and the included hot breakfast was typical hotel fare. I would stay here again and recommend for anyone needing to stay close to the hospital. Price was reasonable for mid week in the middle of January. I read the other reviews. The location is just fine- never had an issue.

This is a hotel with a lot of potential but it is in serious need of a renovation and some TLC. Location near the university is excellent. It's an old building with some character, a nice change from the sterile Holiday Inns and Hampton Inns of the world! |My room (303) was large and spacious, as was the bathroom. However, getting into the room was a challenge. I had to use the force of my body to open the door - it was basically stuck (the door is too large for the frame and it is very difficult to open). The bath towels are laughably small, and are old, rough and frayed around the edges. The windows were filthy and there was exposed insulation in one of the window frames. It looked like it had been stuffed into a crack to keep out the draft. There was a peeling patch in my bath

Positive: The room we stayed in was clean and roomy and offered many conveniences for our stay. Negative: We were surprised when we were told that if we wanted housekeeping service, we would have to make a special request. This doesn't seem like a common practice, and we thought it was unusual. When the housekeeping was done on request, they did a great job.

I stayed there after work since we were supposed to get a good amount of snow. Room was clean, shower had great water pressure and was hot, parking was ample and easy to figure out, and staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Will be staying there again if need be!:)

My son and I stayed here recently for a college visit to Syracuse. The rooms were nice enough and it was in a great location, not too far away from campus. It's a historic hotel but doesn't feel old or run-down in any way. We were disappointed in the breakfast as it featured a waffle maker, cold eggs and sausage, some toast/bagels, yogurt, and juice. I guess I just expected more. I had read in previous descriptions that the front desk staff seems to disappear during checkout and our experience was the same. When I went to check out, there was a small line of people who had been waiting for 15 minutes or longer. I just left my room keys on the desk and hoped for the best--I didn't have time to wait for someone to get back to the desk. I would certainly stay here again, but realize that
