The Hamilton Hoppin House (Formerly Villa 120 Inn)

Loved our stay here for a whole house event! Beautiful historic home all decked out for the holidays. Our room was well appointed with a comfy king size bed and private bathroom. Excellent location, close enough to enjoy everything Newport has to offer without being in the fray. Very close walk to great coffee and other shops on Broadway and quick drive or Uber to all the shops and restaurants on/around Thames. Would stay again during summer to enjoy the beaches!

My recent stay at the Hamilton Hoppin House in Rhode Island was absolutely incredible and exceeded all expectations! If you are looking for a unique and memorable getaway, I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted. It's such a breathtakingly historic building, a true gem from the Gilded Age, which was built in 1856 as a summer home for the Hamilton family. The house is in impeccable condition and beautifully decorated, making you feel as though you've stepped back in time the moment you walk through the door. Every room we saw had its own magical experience and unique character, blending historic charm with modern comfort. I attended a private seminar with friends and colleagues, and stayed for two nights. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with a welcoming entrance, elegant entryway, and large yet cozy rooms, immaculately decorated with high ceilings, elegant architecture… This is a beautiful, historic, welcoming home that is large enough to accommodate several individuals or couples, while maintaining an intimate feel. There were approximately 16 of us attending this event and I will absolutely come back with friends and family to stay again. ||The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay the ideal|reset and recharge. Minutes from Newport. Highly recommend!

Talk about experiencing a piece of history. New England is full of old, historical houses that you won't find anywhere else and this is one of them. This place has an old soul that you'll never find in the dull boxes commonly called hotels. The very design of this place is reminiscent of a time when house designs meant something, and the hosts/owners are exceptional at curating the experience. Don't bother with anything less. Stay here and come back with a story worth telling.

We had a road trip planned along the New England coast. Unfortunately the Nor'easter happened and since two of our sailing tours were cancelled we decided to cancel the trip. We had reservations at 6 hotels along the way. Every hotel but Hamilton Hoppin cancelled our reservation without any fees. Hamilton kept our entire $359 because it wasn't cancelled 7 days in advance. If I'd known 7 days in advance that a Nor'easter was going where we were, I would have done so. They were totally uncooperative. Obviously when we plan the trip in the spring we will not book with them.
