Customer Reviews
My husband and I just left after a two nights stay at the Clifton for our 25th anniversary. I really can’t compliment it enough. We were pleasantly greeted by Andrew, who was very thoughtful and helpful and even parked our car. The entire staff was extremely cordial and kind. I will also say, even though this is a review for the hotel that every person we came in contact with in Charlottesville was extremely nice and friendly. We had scheduled a couples massage and was upgraded to a larger room to accommodate that for free. The room was well appointed keeping the original charm, but with all of the more current touches. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a nice happy anniversary card along with a small plate of aperitifs . We enjoyed dinner on the enclosed patio. It was very de
Such a charming hotel and restaurant. We met friends from out of town for drinks and dinner. All were fabulous. Stayed the night in a honeymoon cottage which was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast the next day (our check out day) was included and incredible. Dining staff was very professional. Highly recommend!
I stayed here for a family wedding 4 days 3 nights. I didn’t want to leave ! It was such an amazing experience. The staff were so kind and accommodating. I saw about 10 guest rooms they were all unique and cozy , VERY comfy beds. The grounds were unbelievable and dog friendly. Our meals were delicious. I will be excited to visit again! Thanks for the love Clifton & Staff !

We were able to take in a little bit of the grounds and wish we'd had more time to truly feel the historic side of this property. The proximity to Monticello was a big plus.
I must say, we were thoroughly disappointed with our stay at The Clifton during our mini-moon. We had received strong recommendations to stay there, particularly for the Chef’s Table experience, which was highly praised for its quality. Upon arrival, we were informed that the concierge was unavailable and were checked in by another staff member. Leading up to our visit, I had been in regular communication with the reception team via both email and phone, so this lack of service set an unexpected tone. Our first night went smoothly and without issue. However, on the second night, we had reservations for the Chef’s Table. We arrived 45 minutes early and sat at the bar. When asked if we had reservations, we confirmed and were eventually seated in the main dining room. It became clear that som
