Swamp Rabbit Inn and Properties

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Swamp Rabbit Inn TR. I've already told my husband that I would love to build one similar to it. It was so quiet, clean, was beautifully landscaped. Sam was so nice to our family. The one thing that he did which made me feel like he truly cared was when he asked my son, who's a quadriplegic how the couch house worked for him. Most people could care less as long as they get their money. He was open to suggestions so he could make any necessary upgrades. We are ready to go back right now. Thank you Sam for being such a wonderful host.

I really wanted to love this place. It's a perfect location (2 blocks from my son's place) and the house is adorable. But Pam didn't respond to - get this - FIVE of my texts. The first night, I woke up sweating - it was well over 80 degrees in my room (in January!) and then the heat turned on, so I had heat blasting into the room. I couldn't sleep - I was exhausted. The second night was fine, though. Also, the wifi network they told me to join didn't exist. So I texted her about both (where is the thermostat? Which wifi network should I use?). If I had to do some work while there, I would have had to leave and go to a hotel. I really want to be able to stay here, but I guess I will have to go to a hotel every time I visit my son.

So service is 1 because of Pam who didn’t respond to text messages, said she sent texts that were never received and couldn’t be bothered to pick up the phone and call us back when we had sent texts that were messages for 11/2 hours. And when she answered my calls, there was clearly an attitude and no apology. Location is a three because it was extremely noisy at night ( but that’s city life right?) And rooms are 3 because the house was adorable, rooms were well furnished and clean and the kitchen and coffee in each room were adequately stocked. Main issue was that the thermostat registered 52 degrees when we arrived which is clearly NOT okay.

In the past I had rated this as a 5 but based on my last stay a couple of weeks ago, I would have to say it's declined considerably. The room now would be a 1 due to the couch being broken and thus the extra bed also broken. The service would also be a 1 because there was no response. We stayed on a Friday night and there were sirens throughout the night from midnight til 4am so not very relaxing or restful if trying to get a good night's sleep. Personally, would not recommend nor will I stay there again. However, the location is a 5 as it's still walking distance to downtown!

Bed and breakfast is a bit stretching it, but the room was neat and clean. The ceiling fan light was missing a globe, and the keyless entry a bit tricky but overall ok. Don't park under the trees beside the house because they drop sap and walnuts bad! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY Just make sure you text Pam for your key code before you get there!!! Also read all the way through her email. We had a good time in Greenville and slept well, so it was well worth the little hurdles of staying at the Swamp Rabbit Inn downtown Greenville SC
