Super 8 by Wyndham Garland/Rowlett/East Dallas area

Honest review here, 5 stars so you’ll read. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HAVE AN EXTRA $20 to spend towards a better stay at the Laquinta across the highway. I stayed 3 days and NOT once saw someone CLEANING. The staff is unpleasant and they hide from their guest.The both of us went to the desk for towels, he handed us one set of towels instead of two like obviously we both need a towel. SMH. Super cheapskate. It had a very spacious king suite but the tv was merely a 40 inch inside a very large bedroom and the tv sits far away from the bed. It’s apart of Wyndham. I like Wyndham hotels but this was a misrepresentation of the company. Only had conditioning shampoo and watered down lotion. No soap. Horrible. I’ve showed you pictures.

Don't let the photos fool you. It's not as nice. It's clearly run down and that wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for other factors. The halls smell like weed, the totality of our cleaning supplies was two tiny bottles of shampoo, a bar of soap. No soap dish, no shower liner so the floor and mat are constantly wet, exposed... Something, the floor in the bathroom was visibly uneven, and general disrepair. When my friend saw a roach in the room, I asked for a new one and it was two doors down and better in most ways. There was still a roach. And mold. I will say I felt fairly safe behind two auto locking doors.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and it is usually very clean and quiet. This time I was there for a total of 3 nights and it was awful. The water was off all day on Friday, there were roaches everywhere, the shower & tub faucet was broken, the sink faucet was leaking and there was a very large spot of fresh blood on the couch. The entire room was very unsanitary but I didn’t have anywhere else to go because it was a holiday weekend. Also, the air conditioner would only stay on for about 3 minutes and then the compressor would shut off. I spoke with the manager about all of these issues and nothing was done to resolve them.

Positive: Checkout Negative: Ceiling tiles look like someone was murdered in our room. 20 mins after being there my wife and I began to itch. Constantly. I know it was bedbugs but I refused to think about it. It was late and we needed sleep

Front Desk was superb, room was very clean, equipped with bath items, coffee maker, very well kept room. Breakfast direction was great! But more than these critical aspects, the front desk staff was friendly, caring, accurate in billing, and assured me my car was safe overnight. It was! The price was right, convenient to where I needed to go and was lucky that I had repeatedly visited the check-staff country as a journalist. Enjoyed visiting about lovely Rotary International journeys to where he had lived many years. Felt like hone at Super 8. Love Wyndham properties. Great management. Dr Richard Stafford
