Positives: front desk staff, valet were friendly and welcoming, room was well-appointed and updated. Good location in Queens. Negatives: predictably expensive parking, no options for self parking; cancellation policies were absolutely merciless - this is what led me to my probably my first ever 1-star review. I’ve stayed at many hotels before, but this is the first place that literally would stop at nothing to charge me for a full night’s stay despite the fact that I was not satisfied with the room. I needed a true kitchenette, which was advertised on the Marriott site and app as being an amenity; rooms here in general only have a tiny mini fridge for chilling small beverages, and no microwave or heating element. When I checked in and saw the actual room, I immediately saw the issue and
WORST hotel experience ever! I wouldn't stay here if given a room for free, thus the ZERO stars! To begin, when the shuttle driver dropped us off, we had to walk a few yards to the entrance, and two men tried to mug me and steal my backpack. No security in sight; later I noticed the security guard asleep in the breakfast room! After this traumatizing experience, we went to our room jet lagged from travel. I immediately noticed a rank smell in the room, and wasn't sure if it was the old carpet or cleaning solutions used to clean up the mold in the room. (Yes, we have pictures of mold in the bathroom!) Upon arriving home, my husband developed a severe throat infection requiring a trip to the emergency room, where the doctors said it was most likely from exposure to a toxic substance. Sinc
Rooms were nice and staff was pleasant until it was time to check out. Rooms were never cleaned during my stay. Nor did the bathroom have hand soap. On Sunday I called the front desk and asked for late checkout and I was told I could check out at 4. I told them perfect but I’ll be out by two. I then scheduled a shuttle pick up to go to the airport. Monday the day of checkout room service came knocking at 12 asking me to leave. I then said I have late check out. I called the front desk and they said they had no record of this. I told them that I spoke with someone and of course they started asking me for the blood type and hair color of the person I spoke to briefly over the phone the day before. I had no information of the person I spoke with. They then confirmed my shuttle time and tol
Very comfortable beds, clean updated rooms. It was fairly quiet there and our family got lots of rest after a long flight. The location is good in regards to fast food (Wendy's, McDonald's and gas stations closeby), might not be safe to be walking outside after dark though. Hotel does lock doors and has a security guard at the front desk at night. Breakfast had good options. Service was good - we asked the front desk to call a taxi cab for us. They called our room and informed us when taxi arrived. Overall very pleased with our stay.
Bottom line upfront: Do not stay here if you can avoid it. Just the facts: 1. I reserved a king bedroom suite, the front desk gave us a studio room with a sofa bed (please see the photo attached; the sofa bed was not usable). 2. The TV (1 of 2) in the room did not work even after contacting maintenance twice. 3. When we asked for our correct room the front desk said they are negative rooms and I would have to wait until after midnight for cleaning people to come in to clean the room “I already prepaid for”. 4. The front dest never called me to let me know my actual room was ready, I had to call them 1am to find out. 5. Once I got my key for the correct room, my Mom was already sleep in the room we were originally given (again it’s past 1am) and they said that everything in the room has to
