Spark by Hilton Carlisle South

This was a quick overnight splitting a drive, was there just to sleep. I'm military and can put up with whatever accommodations but then I remember I paid $100 for this. Not great. It's renovated, but it's clear it's an older hotel building. Still has a strong smoke smell and the renovations look like a landlord trying to flip a rental quickly, which just gives a lived-in feeling rather than clean, sterile hotel. Water did not get very hot. Attention to detail not great in cleaning. AC/heat unit couldn't keep up. Watery coffee in the lobby.

We weren’t sure of what to expect given some of the older reviews. In any case, we were pleasantly surprised. The property appears to be recently renovated. Our room was clean and nice, with a comfy bed, fluffy towels, walk in shower, and tasteful modern minimalist decor. Breakfast options were limited but plentiful, fresh, and attractively displayed. The staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating. We would have given 5 of 5, but the elevator and digital key weren’t working, and there were a couple of stained ceiling tiles stained in the first floor corridor. Otherwise, all was good. We would definitely stay there again🙂

There was a coffee pot in the room, but there was no coffee. There was no creamer. There was no sugar very few amenities.

I thought I would write this review after seeing the many negative reviews. I think many of the bad reviews were written about the "Super 8" motel that previously occupied this building. It has since been renovated and is now a Hilton Spark Hotel. This facility is recently renovated. There were no bad smells. No bugs. The facility and room was clean. The bed was comfortable. There are nearby restaurants. The staff was courteous and pleasant to deal with. And we were not billed for a stolen microwave.||It is located right off I-81 - easy off/easy on. There was a bit of road noise but we chose a room about as far from the road as possible so not too bad. I got a handicap accessible suite. super reasonable price. not super fancy but it was very clean and comfortable. gets the job done! The guys at the desk are great. Tom who works down there was very helpful and helped me with my baggage and went above and beyond. Thanks guys we'll be back on the next trip through
