Comfort Suites Downtown Carlisle

The employees are great, especially Daija. My wife dropped her purse in garage without realizing it until after we got home. She called front desk and Daija went out to garage in bitterly cold weather and icy spots, found the purse, and kept it safe until we were able to drive back to get it. The other employees were pleasant as well. Comfort Suites in downtown Carlisle, PA, is great for affordability, location, and convenience. The onsite hot breakfast was very good. We also ate at the onsite restaurant, Whiskey Rebellion 1794, which was very good as well. I highly recommended Comfort Suites in downtown Carlisle.

The hotel site is directly in the heart of the downtown area. The entrance is on the alley so be careful if people who can't drive block the slim driveway. Other than that it was a good night stay and close to everything we needed. The Historical Society, St John's Church and the Carlisle Indian School. The room was very spacious and it had a sitting area. It was unusual to have the TV in the "bedroom" instead of the sitting area but it was one night. We will be back next year I'm sure.

Great location in downtown Carlisle! The king bedroom suite was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids with a pull out couch bed and a TV in each section of the room so the kids and adults could each watch what they wanted and pocket doors to separate the two areas and provide privacy to the adults. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on the ground floor and a detached parking garage behind that hotel is available, but not visible from the street. You have to drive around the block to find it, or catch the narrow alley to the right of the hotel that shortcuts straight through to the parking garage.

Location is great. Parking is great. The price is reasonable. Our room was spacious. And the staff were really nice and helpful. However, the hotel was a little run down in places. Our bathroom door was kind of falling apart. And the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in. It was actually hard to sleep and I woke up aching. We left early because I couldn’t sleep in the bed another night.

I decided to book as rooms were blocked for our event - class reunion - a big one ! As a Carlisle native who’s stayed here twice before, I was genuinely excited—great location, walkable to everything in our small town. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark. The room was sloppily cleaned, the bedding didn’t feel fresh, and the front desk / bar/restaurant staff .. All seemed consistently irritated and disengaged. What should’ve been a warm, nostalgic stay turned into a disappointing experience.
