Sleep Inn & Suites Metairie - New Orleans West

My wife and I travel often and usually choose Sleep Inn for its reliability, comfort, and price, but this stay was extremely disappointing. From arrival, there were serious problems: a man outside the entrance was playing loud, profane music and smoking marijuana, and staff did nothing to address it. Check-in was unprofessional—the attendant asked for no ID or card and remained on a personal phone call the entire time. The elevator smelled strongly of marijuana the whole stay. And in the room, we had to open the window and use our own air freshener just to tolerate the smell of mildew. The room itself was grimy—the bathroom tiles were sticky enough that we laid down towels to walk on, and the carpet was damp and dirty. If I could give this hotel no stars I would I stayed at Sleep Inn & Suites Metairie - New Orleans West and had a very disappointing experience. The room door lock was broken, which made us (two women) feel extremely unsafe and unable to sleep comfortably. The room was unsanitary — mold and water stains on the ceiling, hair everywhere (bathroom ceiling, sink, towels, and even in the bed), dirty covers, and a sofa bed mattress taped together with duct tape. The pull-out cushions were heavily stained, and one cover had visible blood stains. We were also told no extra pillows or towels were available. Older hotel that has had some remodel. Rooms were clean. Stains on hallway carpet but otherwise clean. Desk staff courteous. Parking limited directly by hotel but more across street. Did not see people loitering and outside was clean. Breakfast offered more hot options than just waffles. Coffee machine down when we were there but there was a coffee maker in the room. Good economic, clean option short drive to downtown New Orleans. We would use again

A lot of things were broken. The ironing board. The bath tub. The iron. The blow dryer wasn't in the room. Had a ask and wait a day for one. Breakfast was good! The location was great. The rooms smelled really bad like weed. We had our 5 month old. Now that wr are home all of our clothes that we did not wear smell like smoke.

Gross. Seriously. I didn’t want my feet touching the carpet. Came in late in the evening and there was a trail of some sticky substance coming from the elevator, all the way outside. Went out the next morning and came back around 4:30pm, trail was still there. Bathroom was tidied and trash was taken but bed wasn’t made when I returned. Looks like the floor hasn’t seen a vacuum or broom in weeks. Even found a dirty old sock under the bathroom counter. Are there any housekeeping staff? Update, day 3-4: asked to have my room service because nothing was done when I returned from my seminar around 12:30pm. I told them about the dirty men’s sock under the bathroom vanity and that the floors look like they haven’t been vacuumed in a long time. The woman was very nice. Left and came back around 4
