Royal Inn Motel

The Royal Inn doesn't pretend to be a five star hotel. it's a place to spend the night at a decent price. One needs to respect that reality when they book and go to the hotel. The rooms are dark and could use more lighting. They could use to have hairdryers in them. On balance, I think the owners are good, decent people.

This is a basic motel a little old, but ran by a lovely family, the room is clean, but has the necessities a microwave and a refrigerator as I said it’s very clean, but it is a motel and does not have amenities that other facilities may have that being said my son graduated from UVA but hadn’t informed me of the specifics until very late, so I was not able to get reservations until late and in my haste, I made the mistake of reserving a smoking room. While the management gave me the best room possible under the circumstances, I already wasn’t feeling well so I wasn’t always the most comfortable but again as I said, it’s clean safe and that’s what I needed the most. Hopefully they’ll be able to upgrade some of the amenities so that could get more attention as they are deserving.

Dr Auby J here… I had a great stay. Rm 112 Dan at the front desk was very polite and helpful. It’s a great location and a very reasonable priced. I Travel a lot to different hospitals. I stay at motels to try to save money instead of hotels. I recommend this motel. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. Plenty of hot water, nice clean towels and soap, and shampoo. Wish there was a blow dryer in the rooms. The toilet seat was a little loose. But no big deal. The room was clean & the air was not musty or dirty smelling, New AC and heater in the room.. The TV and lights Worked Properly. Everything was in order. Had a pleasant sleep…. A very good place to stay for the money! Clean rooms with no odor, the plumbing works perfectly. Great service at the front desk.

Absolutely terrible, worst hotel ever stayed at. Not much privacy or quiet. , Dirty& smelly, plumbing issues, loud partying in parking lot. Lots of people in & out through out the night. Got no sleep, and just left in middle of night. Save your money and book somewhere else.
