Residence Inn Newark, DE

We stayed here for the weekend and had a positive experience. The location feels safe, and the hotel is well-situated given the surrounding area. The hotel itself was extremely clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. What truly makes this hotel, though, is the exceptional staff. There was some late-night noise from another room, but the staff was more than accommodating and handled it quickly and professionally. Also, one morning, I arrived at breakfast just minutes before closing, and instead of rushing me, the staff went out of their way to be kind and welcoming. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Pretty good. The hotel is new but construction did not seem to be of the best quality, or 100% completed. Bad caulking and fixture installation evident all over our two-bedroom suite. Broken (very noisy) bathroom fan in one of the bathrooms - and the second bedroom was advertised as a queen, when it clearly has a smaller bed. Some of the headboard paneling was not yet installed. |The water stations in the hallway were empty and not completed. Many other things still seem to be in progress. Staff were ok, not offering a great welcome. Overall, needs work to be a great Residence Inn, fully to brand standard.|Gym and pool were very nice!

I loved my stay here! Even the front desk added to the enjoyment, I cannot remember her name but she was super kind, friendly, and funny...we even had a great conversation while i waited for my ride about food in the area. But the rooms...the room was fantastic, even the little kitchen area had a fullsize fridge and a dishwasher. The bathroom was so clean and new...the lights were perfect for doing makeup and the walk in shower was perfect. The beds weren't too soft, and not too firm...you could tell the bedding was clean and freshly changed. The room itself was also bright. Loved the stay, would definitely stay here again!

The room itself was great, but during my two week stay, I only had my room cleaned fully once. This is a great hotel for a short stay, but due to short staffing, a long term stay in this hotel is not ideal at the moment. My room was always forgotten for replenishing towels and picking up trash even though I reminded staff multiple times. After talking to the manager, they offered to adjust my room rate for these issues, but this adjustment never occurred. Front desk staff were amazing and breakfast was good. It was the housekeeping that reflects my overall rating, especially for a two week stay.

Nice stay, but workmanship needs attention We had an overall nice stay. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was good with a solid variety of options. However, there were several issues that stood out, especially for a newer hotel. The shower was very frustrating — it has no door, so heat escapes immediately. The design made it uncomfortable to use, and we ended up buying our own shower curtain to create a makeshift enclosure. In addition, the workmanship in the room felt rushed: the paint job was splotchy, the bathroom shelf was coming loose, the shower head mount was damaged, and there were visible gaps around the shower where water could get in.
