Candlewood Suites Newark South - University Area by IHG

Professional front desk, was quickly checked in. Room was nice, clean and quiet. Could use a little touch up here and there but nothing keeps it from looking clean and presentable as you walk in. Location is fine. Would stay again if I was in the area.

I stay here a few times a week with work and the staff is always friendly (especially Latoya on night shift!). My rooms are consistently clean and have no problem most of the time with availability. Excellent place to stay near the University.

My sister was rushed to the hospital local to this hotel on Saturday evening and placed on life support. My mom and I live in different states and traveled a few hours to be by her side we brought very little with us as we were in a hurry to get to her and had no clue what was in store when we arrived. ||When it became clear that we were going to be in for a long haul , I called around to a few local hotels. The first and second one that I called actually quoted me over 300 for what would be a 5 hour stay and then raised the rates as I was on hold. Candlewood suites was the third hotel on my list. Latoya answered the phone and I immediately felt at ease and believed that she would help us. I explained a little bit about what was going on and she just took care of everything. She said , yo

We loved our stay. The staff was very accommodating. We asked for early check in and we were able to check in 3 hours early, which really was helpful. The front desk assistant was very nice upon arrival and on the phone when we called. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are a lot of cool places to eat nearby as well. We loved Malin's deli!! We will be back next year for sure. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Pros: the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in at a hotel. The room was spacious and had some handy kitchen items for basic cooking if staying for an extended period. Bathroom was clean. What I personally hated was the over the top extra air freshener/cleaner used in the common areas.
