Residence Inn by Marriott Memphis Southaven

We had a quick trip from Austin TX to Memphis Tennessee and decided to book here. We did leave late around 8pm from Austin TX on Saturday and checked in really late it was like 6am when we arrived. There was a communication hiccup on my end I was told to check in via the app and I guess I didnt check in correctly but anyway special shout out to Ms. Ruth i believe. I was so tired im not sure i got her name right! I apologize if im wrong. But she quickly explained what happened and gave me my room. The room we checked in was a 2 bedroom suite. Room was clean! Breakfast was at 7 but we didnt eat because we were so tired. They do have coffee 24 hours and we did enjoy some later. All areas we passed through were clean. Great place to get some rest!

Marriott should be appalled to have its name on this hotel. I am a loyal Marriott member, but this has me questioning my choices. We stayed overnight because our flight was very early the next morning. We had a 2 bed/ bath suite. The carpet was ripped up in several areas. It was too disgusting to walk around without shoes. In one of the bedrooms, the sliding closet door was missing and was just left with a filthy track. The refrigerator had more dents than I thought possible. Honestly, not even sure if it opened. Never again.

Check in - OMG! Overwhelmed with Joy and felt completely welcomed. From the cleaning people to Operations manager. Felt like a celebrity! Check in process was amazing. Great job Brenda! Layout - Efficient and clean. The rooms have everything you need for one night to one month. Food - Breakfast is phenomenal for the free offering. Fresh clean and delish. Only downfall is there is no restaurant onsite. But the location makes up for that because every type of food is within one to two miles. Room - perfect amenities. Full studio kitchen even a cooktop. They have a grill on-site WOW! Laundry room if needed. $2 wash and $2 dry. Perfect for a full load of laundry. Couch was a bit sunken but no worries didn’t spent much time there. Bedroom bed comfy and everything felt clean.

This place is all around awesome. Customer service is exceptional. Mrs. Ruth is the epitome of warm, welcoming, and kind. Each and every stay she makes sure we are well taken care of.
