Residence Inn by Marriott BWI Airport

As a frequent business traveler I have been to many Marriott properties up and down the east coast. This one rates towards the top. Desk staff is wonderful. I don’t mean just one person. They all are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice as is the rest of the hotel. Maybe the best in the area. And I have stayed at mostly all. Unfortunately, due to no fault of their own, it sits off a major highway. The traffic noise can be heavy/loud for 24 hours. Ask for an odd number room in the “middle”. Secondly, they have put up a beautiful security fence that probably cost $100k. But the scan pole to get in is too close to the actual gate and too far away from the curb to do it comfortably. Overall this is my go to hotel in the area and will continue to stay. But as a consumer its important,

Great stay. Overnighted to take an early morning Amtrak train to New York from the BWI airport. Yes that is a thing. Their is lots of parking although larger SUV types may find it challenging but you are use to the size of you vehicle by now. Front desk was very good. I forget the young ladies name but I felt welcome. The room was super large and very clean. Passed the socks test. The water in the shower was instantly hot. I had a room at the end of the hallway. Sometimes those rooms need a while for the water to get hot. Not here. The only issue was the Internet. Make sure you connect to the Residence Inn network and not the Sheraton next door. My devices had no issues. BUT the Internet TV could not connect to the Internet even though the network box was in the room less then 10 feet aw

Smells like cigarette smoke in room, throughout the walkways it smells old… Guys at the front desk was very professional and helpful. I’d like to recommend if you want to get the smell out of rooms have your carpet professionally cleaned and use febreeze vent clips on you ac unit and lay deodorizer on your carpet before vacuuming. Besides that my stay was peaceful and enjoyable.
