Residence Inn by Marriott Arlington Capital View

Great hotel in convenient part of Arlington with close proximity to plenty of food options, less than 10 minutes from the mall and about 20 minutes from downtown DC. Rooms were spacious and clean with plenty of amenities including a gym and laundry room but no pool. On site parking is pricey but on par with big cities that includes a valet option for a little bit more. Standard Residence breakfast fare that runs from 6-9:30 or so. The shared hotel next door has a restaurant that provides room service to the Residence and you can bill dinner/drinks to your room. Restaurant has a nice bar and lounge area, but be prepared to pay $$$$ for a cocktail ($25 for old fashioned with Michters Bourbon).

We stayed at the Residence Inn in Arlington for a short visit and had a good experience. Our room had two king beds instead of the usual couch and living area, which was a little different but did not bother us and would be perfect when traveling with kids. The TV was in an unusual spot and hard to see lying in bed, but the room was very very clean and the bed was comfortable.||This is a clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was simple and basic, which worked well for a quick start to the day.||With two shuttle vans running to the train and the airport, getting around was simple and convenient. ||Everyone at the front desk was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We arrived completely tired and exhausted, but our spirits were immediately lifted by Ramon at the front desk. He is truly a class act warm, professional, and incredibly hospitable. His welcome set the tone for our entire stay. Breakfast was amazing, and the bar was excellent. We also had an incredible view of the airport and loved watching the planes take off it was such a cool experience. Highly recommend!

First the pros: the hotel looks great inside and out. Our room was open, spacious, and well organized for work and rest. You would have no issue staying here for an extended duration.|The breakfast buffet was OK.|The self-park garage is below the sister Renaissance hotel and was convenient, except it did completely fill up one night. ||The cons: the first night we checked in, there was a big dead roach in the elevator. The next morning, there was a dead roach by one of the trash cans in the breakfast seating area. Then at night, around the tables near that same area, a live roach ran along the floor. Front reception was notified. We did not see any more bugs the rest of the stay, nor did we see any one the main floors. Now, this was all on the ground floor and they could easily c
