Residence Inn by Marriott Arlington Ballston

Extremely small tvs for size of rooms, very uncomfortable temperature for sleeping limit of 65 cooling on thermostat when the building is extremely stuffy and hot could barely get any sleep due to the temperature, the beds are very firm and uncomfortable, and pillows are way too soft offer 0 support for your head and neck, i wouldnt stay here again unless they made changes to the temperature in the rooms. As it felt like 75-80 in the room their ac definitely needs to be ramped up also ac filter was disgustiing completely covered in dirt and dust, as they had the panel for the filter in the room

I stayed at this hotel for over a week and it doesn't measure up to other Residence Inn hotels I've stayed at in other countries. The hotel seems to be poorly maintained and the room we stayed in had a leaking faucet in the kitchen area. There also wasn't a hot water pot like other hotels have to boil water for tea. The windows don't open so ventilation is very poor and the rooms get stuffy since the vent in the bathroom doesn't exhaust the air. Residence Inns are supposed to be for longer stays where you can prepare meals in the room, but they have only one stock pot, sauce pan, and a frying pan, making only very simple meals of reheating frozen foods from the store possible. Don't expect to be able to cook much in the poorly equipped kitchen. In the morning, the breakfast is very simple

Location was excellent and family friendly. If you want a safe neighborhood feel in a downtown environment with lots of restaurants, shops and a park in close walking distance, this the perfect location. Commuting into the heart of DC and surrounding boroughs was convenient and fast and we had no trouble with traffic. Parking was easy and convenient in the underground deck. The elevators were secure and required electronic room keys, which made moving between floors and the parking deck after dark feel safe. The lobby was beautiful and comfortable and the complimentary breakfast buffet and all-day coffee station in the lobby were great too. Incredible experience at a residence inn. By far, the nicest I’ve ever stayed. This is my second time staying here, I used to live next door at The View and I like staying here when I’m back in the area. Peter at the front desk is extremely kind, hardworking, and efficient. Highly recommend this spot - the breakfast is really good too - with plenty of space to work (& play).

Surprisingly sparse bathroom amenities. Housekeeping is every other day, we had to call for clean towels. Great breakfast but dining area crowded. Well maintained facility but aging. Bathtub was slippery. I understand that a renovation is on the way. Parking garage will be an adventure for those who have not experienced tight urban garages before. Nice gym and small pool.
