Red Roof Inn Sumter

Tried to check in for a short night. We were told they only accept cash (even though the sign on the window says cards are permitted) and the nightly rate is $20 more than posted. After agreeing to cash, the clerk wanted an additional $25 for a non-smoking room.

Positive: My room was clean Negative: The pool wasn?t working and I could pay at the window of the office one night

The rooms need updating and they need to be thoroughly cleaned. We found a bug on the wall and a spider in the bathtub. The check-in process was not very pleasant. You had to knock on a locked door for them to answer, and the staff members were not that welcoming. There is no hairdryer in the rooms, so you had to go to the front desk area and ring the bell in order for them to give you a hairdryer to use. It certainly was not worth the price that you paid for the room. We were so disappointed.

I absolutely love this hotel. All the staff has been very kind and make sure they are attentive to my needs a customer. This year has come with many changes and to find a hotel that makes me feel like home, is a true blessing. I would recommend and visit again. Thank you.

I drove over 7hr for my grandmother’s funeral. I got there 2:30 am and this property was a dump. No heat, bugs, door wouldn’t lock. I asked for my money back about 30 mins into my stay. No one should ever stay there ever. They should have a place to check no stars.
